These reviews are from our WDW visit Nov 10th - 18th. A bit late but better late than never.
These meals were all enjoyed by myself (35), DH (36), DD (4 1/2), DS (22 months)
Garden Grill, lunch, Nov 11
We had PS and the restaurant was quite crowded but we only had to wait about 5 minutes for our table.
I was recovering from a stomach virus so I really didn't eat much. I was so disappointed because everything looked delicious. I ate mashed potatoes and gravy and it was quite tasty. I took a bite of flank steak and it was yummy too. I wish I could tell you more about the food. The vegetables looked beautiful.
My kids really didn't eat anything other than the bread. This was their first character meal ever and they just couldn't waste time eating.
DH loved the food. He said this was his favorite meal (food wise) of the whole trip. He loved all of the food. He even loved the kids meals. He didn't try the dessert though.
Our server was extremely slow which was frustrating but we did get to see each character several times.
DH and I ate here on our honeymoon and I don't remember the spinning of the restaurant bothering me then. It definitely did this time though. It moves so slowly, I can't believe it bothered me. I'm guessing it was because I was not feeling 100%. We will definitely return.
Tony's, breakfast, Nov 13th
We had a PS for 8:05. I loved being able to get in before the park opened.
We had a lot of fun at the breakfast. I loved the potatoes. DH hated them. The cinammon rolls were yummy if you ate them warm but, once they cooled, they were chewy. To me, they seemed like they had been microwaved. This meal felt very rushed. I also felt like we were pretty crammed in. We were sitting near the fountain. There was pretty much always a crowd of characters, customers and/or servers behind my chair and DS's high chair.
The kids enjoyed all of the action. I'm glad we did it but I don't feel the need to do it again. ( I guess that's good since it was only temporary.)
H&V, lunch, Nov 15th
This is the meal DD says was her favorite. She loved Minnie's dress, dancing with Goofy and Minnie, the kids buffet, and the dessert buffet. I thought the mashed potatoes were delicious. I also loved the chopped tomato stuff they had to put on the bread. I don't know what it's called. If I remember correctly, it had vinegar, a little oil, some onions and some sort of cheese. I ate a ton of the stuff.
For some reason, I had been under the impression that Minnie did not walk around and visit at H&V. But, she did. She came to our table twice. DD was sooooooo pleased. Minnie is her favorite.
The dessert bar was a lot of fun. We tried several of the baked goods though and thought they were horrible. But the soft serve and all of the toppings were good and we enjoyed having so many toppings at hand.
CRT, breakfast, Nov 17th
If DH and I could only redo one meal from our vacation, this would be the one. AKL Concierge made our PS, they told us that our PS was for the 17th at 9:35. I had been very careful not to tell DD about the breakfast until we had the PS. I didn't want her to get excited. Well, we get there and they have no PS for us. We give her our confirmation number and we are told, your PS was for the 14th. I was so disappointed. I didn't want to tell DD that we couldn't eat in the castle. The women at the desk were wonderful. I showed them the documents we had from concierge and they said that they would fit us in if we would be patient.
We really didn't have to wait too long, probably about 15 minutes. It was just enough time for DD to wait in line and sit with the Fairy Godmother and for us to look around. We went up and had the best table. It was right by a window. We had a view of Dumbo and the Carousel. These are my kids favorite rides.
Both kids loved the chocolate muffins and fruit. I liked the fruit and the yogurt that came at the beginning. I thought the potatoes were very good. The rest of the food was fine except I found the stuffed toast too rich. DH thought it was great though.
The characters were Cinderella, Snow White, Belle, Mary Poppins, and Prince Charming. In addition, at the end of our meal, the Fairy Godmother came and visited us for a while. This selection of characters was perfect for us. Belle and Cinderella were absolutely wonderful. Seeing DDs face when she talked to Cinderella was priceless. DD says Prince Charming was her favorite character of the whole trip.
We had wonderful service. This was the only character meal where we actually had some room around our table so I didn't feel cramped. We did not feel rushed at all. It's the only meal that my DS sat through without so much as a peep. He loved the view and the characters. The food wasn't fantastic but it was very good. The location can't be beat. It is one of our fondest memories from our trip.
