Please give me some reviews for the RFC @ AK.......... we've been to the RFC @ DTD on our last trip in 2004. The food was good but the service was sooooooooooooo slow. We have ADR's this time for 16 people (my whole family) in Dec.@ AK (the kids really want to go)
I've heard that the RFC @ AK is much better.....is that true? I'd appreciate any input from anyone who has been there recently.

Thanks :thumbsup2

We've been to RFC in AK twice. We love it there. It's never been crowded when we go, in fact it's usually quiet enough so you can truly appreciate the sounds of the animals and when the thunderstorm comes through. The service has always been good for us. We're going there again on our upcoming trip. It's so much nicer than the one in DTD IMO.

Never been to the one in DTD but ds now 15 and I eat lunch every single trip at RFC/AK. Been going for 10 years now. Since its just the two of us we always sit at the bar and have always had amazing service. We love the quesadillas and the smoothies. We even tried to go once for breakfast but arrived just as the kitchen was switching over. It was empty and the servers offered to get us some scrambled eggs - very sweet. We love it.

we ate there once. Our kids really like it but in my opinion the food is just OK. Our service was great no problems there at all. Just not a big fan of chain restaurants. For the price there are some much better options.

We ate there a few months ago. While we enjoyed the atmosphere, we thought the prices were ridiculously high for the mediocre food they serve.

We LOVE the breakfast at the AK location. Good coffee and fantastic stuffed french toast!

I do agree that the prices were very high. I looked at the menu and pretty much know what I'll order. This way when I get there I won't be overwhelmed. There do have a large menu. The appetizers alone can be a meal.

We eat at the RFC in AK a lot. The food is a bit pricey (where are they not pricey in Disney ;) ) but the portions are huge. You can usually end up splitting a meal and still be full. We have never been disappointed by the food and the service is usually great. Atmosphere is fun, you can get a "nice" beverage to cool off with and then shop after you eat!

Do you know what the breakfast hours are for the AK location. I want to take my sister there during our Oct trip..

We ate here for lunch in March '05.
Service was terribly slow, food mediocre at best and prices were ridiculous. We had been to other RFC's in other states. We liked the atmosphere at first but service was always slow and the food never that great. At first, we were OK paying high prices because the kids loved the theme.
After continous poor service, we decided the price was never worth the average food.
Kids even said they would not want to go back.

I booked a 8:30 ADR (they take them) for breakfast in Sept. That was the earliest time they had. I bet it's the same hours for Oct.

That's true. The portions are huge. Last time I was there I ordered fried calamari (appetizer) for myself, I became too full for the meal. (and I can eat)
My dh likes the ribs and will probably split them with my DS12. The menu has 1/2 a rack of babybacks for 18.99 and a full rack for 23.99...so there you go.

Thanks for reviews. I feel better now. Glad we booked RFC in AK instead of DTD. :thumbsup2

Well, at least they are consistent, it sounds like...
To repeat what many have said... The portions are huge...we always share meals there, we don't mind the food there, but yes, the service is agonizingly slow there whenever we've been (even if it is not crowded).
My kids love the environment, and we used to live in VA where they had one, so they miss it. That is the main reason we go.

I thought that I'd read on another thread that you couldn't make an ADR for RC, am I mistaken? :confused3

We made an ADR for 16 people for RFC @ AK for Dec. I think you can't make them for the RFC @ DTD.

You can make them for RFC @ DTD. It is just a different phone number you have to call for it is all.
