Reviews for HS EMM? And a question...

Hello! Has anyone attended the EMM at HS and if so could you provide some feedback? Trying to figure out if I want to schedule it for is in December and EMM at MK isn't on a day that will work for us. And my (probably stupid) question is just confirm that our infant does not need a ticket since he doesn't need a park ticket? Thanks in advance!

EDIT: I also saw online that breakfast is served from 8-10, with the park opening at 9 for other guests... so it sounds like a good bet would be rides and meet and greets then over to eat breakfast at 10?

We did it in September and loved it. Definitely worth it. Infant does not have to pay for a ticket but include him in your overall numbers. When u enter his age, his "ticket" will show as free.

Great- thank you for the info about the infant! Any strategy suggestions? I'm glad to hear it was worth it!

Do post what you thought about it if you decide to go. I am tying to decide if we want to do MK or HS or both :) Have a great trip.

I will! I would love to do the MK one but it's only offered the morning after we arrive and we won't be getting in until late. I can find a lot of positive reviews for that one but I'm not having a ton of luck finding too much detailed feedback for HS. Hope you guys have a great trip as well!

We are doing an EMM at MK. We had planned to be finished eating at 10, but if we start breakfast just before 10 that would be even better. Does anyone know if they serve the breakfast right up until 10 or are they trying to get you out by 10?

I have heard a lot of good things about the DHS one (especially if what's offered appeals to you)! There were a few threads on it back when it was first offered, if you do a search you might be able to find them :)

We will be attending EMM at HS on our Dec trip as well!

When it was first announced, I really had no interest. There are not that many attractions in HS so I didn't see a need. While planning our December trip though, it just fits really well with our schedule. It allowed me to save our FP+ to use at MK that evening. This was my cheaper alternative to buying MVMCP tickets. My boys don't have a lot of interest in the special characters at the party but we love MK at night.

I'm very excited about a near empty park!

We've done it twice (or is it 3 times?) and we don't go in to eat till after the park opens so we are always still eating at 10:00. They still have all the food out and at no time did we feel rushed to leave. The only thing I noticed was they reduced the buffet line from 2 sides to 1 nearer to the end.

I did the EMM at HS in August. Absolutely loved it. There were definitely less than 100 that were signed up for it that morning. Road Toy Story 5 x in a row without having to get off. Then went and did all of the characters. I never do characters....but it was walk up to every single one of them. Maybe one family in taking photos when I got there but never waited more than 2 minutes to see any of them. I didn't do star tours....as that ride makes me sick, so I went back to Toy Story, rode it 1 more time and then it had a few issues with the lights. This was with 10 mins. left before regular park opening. Everyone at the party was given all day fast pass for toy story due to the light issue at the end. Did breakfast once park opened. Breakfast was awesome. Lots of choices, food was good & hot! Cast members were friendly and it felt like we had the park to our selves! I would do this again in a heartbeat! Best extra spend of my $$$ at Disney!

That is great to know! I was worried we would be either rushed or getting the scraps so I am so glad to hear this!

I am doing both MK and DHS EMMs in Dec, and I did them to give the kids a special, low-crowd experience and leave us two more meals on our DDP (which helps as we are doing an Epcot CP breakfast and MBYBBQ). But our 60-day FP window opened up a week after I booked and I realized I hadn't considered all the FPs I wouldn't need because we are going ride certain attractions multiple times on those mornings. I didn't have to scramble for 7DMT or any of the other rides that we get at the EMMs. Even DH is excited for the idea of riding TSMM multiple times, possibly without getting off.

I just posted a detailed review a few posts up...I did it with just our oldest and had a blast. Signed up for JTA, rode TSMM 5 times without getting off, met Buzz and Woody, stopped and met Mickey and Minnie only because the guy commented they had only had 6 people stop by lol but Sorcerer Mickey ended up being a great M&G. Rode Star Tours once (I don't really care for motion simulators but my son is a huge SW fan). The park opened at this point so we went and did meet and greets with Kylo Ren and Chewie and browsed the exhibit and got to breakfast around 9:40ish. The food was hot and very good, those french toast sticks were incredible. We happened to finish around 10 and wanted to catch the March of the First Order with my husband who had just arrived with the other two kids, but there were still several other families eating when we left and the buffet was still out.
There was around 30 people signed up for our event, it was deserted. As a special thing for DS and I and a laid back way to sign up for JTA, it was perfect and I would do it again in a heartbeat. If you had littles who couldn't handle that fast pace or multiple rides in a row or a larger family, the value would probably decrease, but it was one of my favorite memories of the trip.

Here is our son...first one in the park to a deserted Hollywood Blvd.

Oh my gosh, I WANT that!!! I'm so jealous. I don't know how you people can ride TSMM multiple times in a row. Our hands and wrists all got tired after just one round! I wonder if we were doing it wrong?

We're signed up for the EMM at MK and very much looking forward to that. Star Tours is a favorite ride of ours but many of us suffer a bit of motion sickness and can only do one ride on ST every few hours. We also aren't big on character meets, so the one at Hollywood Studios just doesn't make much sense for us. I sure think the breakfast at that one sounds better though!

Lol I am like that with buzz, my finger cramps up about halfway through the ride. The ball pulled thing on toy Story is much easier.

We loved it! Got a picture of in Pixar Place with nobody there except for staff. We went directly to Toy Story and rode that 8 times straight, we didn't have to get off the ride, just kept going around. That took about 40 minutes and then we met with Buzz & Woody who spent a lot of time with us, because there was nobody else there. Then we did a quick visit with Mickey & Minnie before getting our breakfast (close to 9:00 at that point). The breakfast was pretty good, they had this french toast sticks that tasted a lot like the Pooh's French Toast at Crystal Palace, which I love. We were done there at about 9:20 and went onto Star Tours. The park was open at this point, but the standby line was still pretty non existent at that point.

I highly recommend it!

We started with ST (DH and DS) and I took our daughter to meet Olaf. We didn't ride ST a second time bc we were time constrained right after 9 (we had JTA line up at 9:40). They did get a rider swap though. We went to Mickey and Minnie and then to TSMM. We rode 4 times back to back without getting off. We went to Buzz and Woody and then back to Olaf for DS To get to meet him to. At this point, the rope had dropped so a few people were in front of us for Olaf. We went to breakfast afterward. It was AMAZING!!!! My main suggestion is do breakfast after 9. Don't waste time doing it before 9!!

Agreed, I don't know that a strategy is really needed since there are so few people, although it makes sense to knock out either of the rides first and then fit in the characters on your way to the other ride due to the layout. I agree with this suggestion...as long as you show up before 10, they will keep the breakfast open to you. I would be ready to beat the rope drop crowd to your next highest priority like rnrc or ToT or whatever, knock that out, and then hit up breakfast.
