My MIL came into town last night (2/21) and offered to watch DD while DH and I enjoyed a night by ourselves...of course we took her up on the offer  I had signed up online for special offers/emails from Texas de Brazil and received a "Complimentary Dinner" coupon for my birthday. We have been wanting to try this restaurant and thought this was the perfect time! I made a 6:30pm reservation online about 4 days prior. We arrived at the restaurant at 6:15pm and were seated right away. It was pretty empty at this point, but 30 minutes later it was packed! I noticed a lot of business/conference groups at large tables of 20-30 people.

We loved the salad bar! It was more along the lines of a gourmet salad bar as they had several kinds of olives, salmon, proscuito, cucumbers and carrots marinated in an italian vinagarette dressing, about 5 kinds of cheeses, mozarella balls, tabalouh (sp?).....and more. At the salad bar they also had sauteed mushrooms, white rice, some type of sushi, asparagus....and my DH's favorite Lobster Bisque! I think he ate 3 bowls!!

They give you little cards that you display on your table to let the Gouchos know if you would like them to stop at your table and offer you meats. Meats are generally cooked medium rare, so I requested several pieces to be medium well. There were many different kinds of meats and we didn't have the opportunity to taste them all. They had.....lamb chops, flank steak, Brazilian sausage, chicken wrapped in bacon, filet, filet wrapped in bacon, sirlion, pork tenderlion, spare ribs....and a couple of other choices which I can't remember. . They also bring garlic mashed potatoes and fried bananas to your table. Our server told us the fried bananas were to cleans your palate between different types of meat.

Service was superb. Meats were plentiful and our drinks were constantly replenished. Our server as well as other servers came by every so often to ask if there were any meats we hadn’t received yet or if there was anything we needed. Whenever we would get up from our seats a server would come by and refold our napkins. The wine list was very extensive.

DH ended the meal with a cup of coffee and I opted for dessert!! No matter how full I am there is always room for dessert. They have a large tray with about 8-10 desserts that they bring around to show you. I am a chocoholic, so I had the chocolate mouse cake. It was so delicious! Very smooth and creamy…..and not too rich….just right! They even put 2 candles on my plate for my birthday.

Our meal lasted about an hour and a half. Even though my dinner was complimentary our bill was still on the high side. This was the break down:

DH’s dinner : $42.99
DH’s drink : $ 7.00
DH’s coffee: $ 2.50
My dessert: $ 7.50
Total with tax: approx $63
Total with tip: approx $85 (tip based on actual total if my meal was not complimentary)

We really enjoyed the evening and will return again for a special occasion! Next time I will remember to bring a jacket though…..it was a little on the chilly side inside the restaurant.

I am glad to hear that you enjoyed the restaurant. We too enjoyed Texas de Brazil on our last trip. I had the complimentry meal coupon and felt the meal came to be a little on the expensive side but we would definately go back there again.
The food is just too good.
