Thank you so much for the wonderful review and pics! The bread pudding looks awesome!

I have a silly question (having never been to 'Ohana) - if you like something can you ask for more or is what you get all you get?

:)

Oh, yes, you can ask for more of anything you'd like. We were too full to ask for more, unfortunately!

Also, is there Gin in the yellow tang? It doesn't sound like it. I thought all martinis had gin.

Shelly

Nope, no gin. Flavored martinis are a hot thing these days at bars and restaurants, and I think the majority of the "weird" martinis don't have gin. I like apple martinis, usually with vodka/apple vodka and apple pucker :drinking1

Oh, and the bread pudding wasn't mushy at all, for those who mention it.

Thanks for the compliments guys :flower: I'll be sure to update on the job when I hear back!

Thanx for another fantastic review ~ Hope you get the job.

Great review. Thanks so much for taking time to post the details and the pictures.
Have a few questions though, 1) do you each get the bread pudding at the end or is it brought out family style too, and 2) is the dipping sauce for the meats or the wontons?
I really loved the old dipping sauces and thought they were for the meats - not to be gross - but I loved taking the peanut one and the citrus one and mixing them together -
Thanks again!

The bread pudding is served family style, and the dipping sauce is for anything you'd like. :)

Citrus one? Do you mean the pineapple/fruit one?

Thank You! :goodvibes It sounds so good and I think my family is going to enjoy it very much ... I was waiting a review and just wanted to say you di such an awesome job!!! :Pinkbounc Thanks again :wizard:

Thanks so much for the review and pictures. We only tried Ohannas last trip for the 1st time (May 2005) and we were wondering how in the world we went to WDW so many times before and missed it.

I think the changes sound fine, I am dying to try the potatos and bread pudding, but won't be able to next trips since I still have to be dairy free for DD who is allgeric. However their will be other trips and it apears those are the only 2 things we shouldn't eat. I am going to tell them about the food allgeriges when we make ADR (or PS) so hopefully it shouldn't be to hard to manage. Everything else sounds good. :goodvibes

Thanks SO much Forever42! I know a lot of us have been anxiously waiting for your review.

Just a couple of questions? Were there any other desserts available - for an extra charge - for those of us who don't like pineapple/bananas/bread pudding?

Also, do you think it would be possible to order the shrimp without pineapple?

thanks again! :)

Awesome review! I knew I could count on you to give a detailed review. Thanks for the pictures too, my stomach was growling when I was looking at them! Only 33 days until I can try it for myself!

[QUOTE=Forever42The shrimp was sautéed in a light brothy sweet and sour flavoring with red peppers and chunks of pineapple, not deveined and not shelled. I don’t like the flavor of shrimp but I was willing to give it a try until I saw the legs and the “vein” and just couldn’t do it. Mike tried it and said, “Well, the flavor didn’t make me gag like it usually does…” so I suppose it’s a compliment. We’re nowhere near picky eaters, we just don’t like shrimp.

OK, I know this is a stupid question, but how do you eat the shrimp??? My family has never eaten shelled shrimp - and I wouldn't know where to begin - can someone please give me a lesson on proper shrimp ettiquete? (I know, go ahead and laugh!!!) We would love to try it, but don't want to look like idiots at the table! Help please!!!

Unfortunately they took all but the sand pail snow cone dessert away :( Oh, I don't like bananas, so I strained them out of my portion of the sauce, and there's really no pineapple flavor either. I'll bet you can ask for just the plain vanilla ice cream, however.

I'm not sure about the shrimp, but you can ask. Mike said you couldn't really taste pineapple in the shrimp, either.

And I always hear that Disney is very good about food allergies :)

Thanks to your review and pics I called and was able to get a new 'Ohana ADR for October 3rd...our last evening of the trip. It's a late one, but that's fine with us, we love late dinners. The plan is to watch Wishes from outside, along with the EWP if the timing's right, then head in for dinner. My sometimes-picky DS said he'll be more than happy to fill up on the wings. ;) I promised him one of those snow cone buckets if he didn't like the bread pudding, so I sure am happy to hear that they've at least kept those! :teeth:

LOVED your review!!!!!

Do you know if the sausage is beef, pork or turkey? Thanks!

LOL...well, maybe I'll try it. If I don't like it I don't have to eat it I guess. It's funny because I would tell my kids to just try it, but here I am planning to NOT try it. :teeth:

I wasn't going to try it either, but when I saw it, it looked good, so took a little bit. I think of bread pudding as a mushy dessert, but this wasn't at all. It was more like a coffee cake.

LOVED the review - thanks!

Unfortunately I also love green beans and bland rice, and I don't like sausage or scalloped potatoes! So my decision to change our ADR to Kona looks like it was a good one. I like carrots and snow peas but I can't stand celery, so I would have been making the little pile of discards on the edge of the plate.
I like turkey, pork, and steak but not if it is the texture of jerky. Definitely not a good fit for our family. I am glad the foods they added are yummy - I just don't like those particular foods! :)

Peeling shrimp: Just pick them up with your fingers, tear off the legs and then peel off the shell. Then pull the shrimp out of the tail shell.

A couple years ago we had some friends over at the beach and we had gotten some awesome shrimp. This man sits there and just starts eating them, peel and all.

No more Pineapple Bread!!! :sad2: :sad2: My dh is going to be so disapointed. I'm not telling him at all about this change. I'll let it be a suprise.

Sabrina

Thanks for the review! I am not sure we'll return there again quickly just because we attempt to eat at different places each time but it doesn't sound as if they've ruined it yet =)

What would we do without your reviews!! My heart just aches to be back when I look at the pics.
