My daughter and I ate lunch at Mythos last week. It was excellent for a theme park restaurant, and pretty good for a restaurant anywhere.
I started with the mushroom soup which was pretty bland. DD12 got the pasta of the day which was a sort of a stacked chicken pad thai. She liked it a lot but I found it too sweet. I had the risotto with asparagus and beef medalions. The rissoto and asparagus were very good. The beef medalions were so tough it was embarassing to be sawing away at them. I only ate a few bites of the beef. DD12 had the chocolate mousse-y dessert shot and enjoyed it. I had the chocolate cake with peanut butter ice cream and bananas in caramel. It was fantastic; DD, although "full", ate quite a bit of it.
I must admit that the service was irritating. I don't like restaurants that send someone out with your food who is not your server and who doesn't know where to bring the food. It's hard to enjoy a nice meal when the server is walking around to every table saying, "Mushroom soup?" and finally gets to me so I can claim it.
Then there's the silverware. You get a knife and one fork. After I claimed my mushroom soup, the server who brought it did notice I didn't have a spoon so he brought me one. But when my dessert arrived, all I had was my rissoto covered fork and the server had already disappeared. I walked over to the silverwear drawer and got myself a fork.
Finally, I know that Mythos is crowded, but I hate to be rushed. The server brought us our check while we were finishing our entrees. I said we wanted dessert. After a few minutes, he brought around a tray of the dessert shots. I said I wanted something off the menu. He was very clearly trying to hurry us out of there.
So....food, pretty good. Service...could use some improvement.
