We ate dinner at LTT the evening before Thanksgiving and at Jiko on Thanksgiving. (Note to everyone trying to get LTT ADRs: At 6 pm on the night before Thanksgiving, a party of 3 walked in w/o ADRs and was seated immediately! It blew me away since I had made my ADRs 180+ days out!)

I want to talk about these two dinners together because we are not on the dining plan and the two tabs were almost idential....slightly north of $200 (with tip) for our family of 5. We'd eaten at LTT before and enjoyed it...the food is very kid-friendly. But the food at Jiko was about 10 times better for the same price. The food at LTT should cost about $12.95 a plate for what you get.

I love seeing Minnie in her colonial dress, and the atmosphere of LTT is cozy. However, never again. It is INCREDIBLY obvious that the servers are required to get people in and out in one hour flat. The server brought our salad and rolls BEFORE taking our drink orders. I refused to eat anything before I'd received my drink, but the rest of our party ate. Everything is so very rushed....which would be fine if you were paying $12.95 a plate, but not if you are paying $40 a plate.

Jiko was fantastic. Relaxed. Good helpful service. Terrific food. DH and I both got the scallops. I have NEVER seen scallops that large.

Note about Jiko: Be careful if you have food allergies. I am allergic to tree nuts and didn't order anything with nuts. However, by the end of the meal, my tongue was tingling, so there must have been something in all those exotic ingredients that my mouth didn't like.

I'd highly recommend Jiko. I'd recommend LTT if you are on the dining plan and want to eat in a hurry.

Thanks for the reviews. I have read many things about the service and the food at LTT. None of it was very flattering. I've now changed my ressie.

Enjoyed reading your reviews ~ Thanx for posting.

Thanks for the information. DW and I have an ADR for Jiko in Feb for the one night we're attempting to have a date without the kids! I am really looking forward to it.
:woohoo:
