I casually mentioned a while back, that I would take my oldest daughter back to Disney for her college graduation(may '24). Well few weeks ago, my dd and wife were like you better get a planning. We were regular park goers back when the kids were young, with our last trip around over 10 years ago. This trip is celebrating a college graduation and soon to be 22nd b-day. Looking for ideas around adult oriented activities with your adult child. She has been pretty tight lipped when I have asked what she wants to do...

Travel dates - are Mid May 2025

Resorts- Split stay
First half - AOA little mermaid or Dolphin
Second half - Contemporary garden

Her request -
Eat at Magic Castle
Evening at FW campfire

Dad Request
Fishing

What are some of your favorite adult activities to continue making those magic memories?

- Epcot has a good number of fun, not terribly raucous adult beverage options.

- Several options with animals at AKL, such as with night vision and a safari.

- trader sams grog grotto.

-Amphicars.

- Cirque at Disney Springs.

- extra evening hours until what like 1am.

- scat cats / the beignets at port Orleans.

- Animal Kingdom you can get a Dole whip with rum and listen to music in Harambe market.

(Yes, a fairly common theme here.)

I was surprised at how much my DD and niece enjoyed the Segway Tour at FW. I think it's called Wilderness Back Trail Adventure. We did it last summer. My DD was 29 and niece was 19. My sister and I found it fun, too. We had a great CM lead our group.

I also did Keys to the Kingdom and other back stage tours with my DD as an adult. We loved those tours and made great memories.

Finally, my DD loves going to the various lounges, so we always pick a couple when we visit. A couple of favorites are the Dahlia Lounge on the roof of the Gran Destino Tower (Coronado Springs) and Geyser Point at Wilderness Lodge -- especially nice at night to view the MK fireworks and the Electrical Water Pageant.

Make sure to get her a Celebration button at your resort or at a park! Have fun.

If she is like me, the idea of 'ADULT" things to do in WDW never entered my mind. My first trip, with my family, was when I was 35 years old. I am now scarily close to 77 years old and I still just want to see WDW in general. I still love just going to the parks like I did back in the beginning. I enjoyed the atmosphere, the attractions and the rides. Later on after I had gone a few times I started to appreciate the mechanics and wanted to see how they made it all work. Then I took the tours and it expanded my enjoyment because I could than understand the workings as well as the show.

If she is not very vocal about what she might want to do, perhaps she really cannot picture what adult things are needed in a place line WDW. That is the way I still feel about it, at my age.

Hoop Dee Doo Review, maybe? A lot of that show goes over kids heads, but a 21 yo would probably find it funny and she can order alcohol if she likes that.

Honestly, I think treating her like an adult while there is the number one thing. Family time is what is going to make the best memories.

Think about her interests. Frankly, I just wanna do rides, the parade, etc. But maybe a craft project at a resort or Sangria University? The elephant behind the scenes thing at AK or Wild Africa trek? Drawn to Life at DS? Is a water park her thing?

So, hanging out with my folks at a water park for the day would have been a big thing for ME because we spent so much vacation time around pools. But for others, that would be dud. If my mom had dragged me to either the mosaic or Sangria Univerity at CSR, I might have questioned her planning at first, and then would have loved it. I also would have loved a super intense, open to close park day.

That said, some folks are more about the food, shopping, finding pretty spots for pictures, just soaking up sun…..

Sangria University at Coronado Springs is fun. The La Cava Experience in EPCOT is also cool. A self-styled tour of lounges on the monorail or skyliner could be fun. How about the Wild Africa Trek in Animal Kingdom? Or a Savor the Savanna tour? Or is there a resort or type of food she loves that you could plan a special dinner? Narcoossee's or Topolino's timed with fireworks (MK & EP, respectively) could be great. Hope you both have a magical and memorable trip!
