After two weeks of wonderful sunshine and warm temperatures in
the mid eighties we have returned to the minus 20 weather of Canada.
We stayed off site at the Quality Suites Maingate East on 192 east.
We arrived late on Saturday afternoon after driving from Ottawa
Ontario. I called the hotels 1-800 number and requested a KISS
rate that I had seen at $59.95 a month ago. The Kissimmee web
site was listing it at $79.95 that week. And surprise we got it.
The one bedroom apartment incuded a daily breakfast of cereal,
pancakes, waffles, fruit, muffins, toast, juice milk coffee tea etc.
The afternoon 4-6p.m. had free beer, wine and pop by the pool.
The hotel was only about 25% full during the week and would
increase on the weekends.
We went to Magic Kingdom on Monday January 28 and in the first
hour of opening did Aladin, the treehouse, the Jungle Cruise,
Pirates of the Carribean (we were the only ones) and the
Thunder Railroad twice in the the first hour. The following Satuarday
the park was more crowded. This is my fourteenth trip to WDW and
I have never seen it so quiet.
Unfortunately, all good things come to an end and we had to drive
north. If you have any specific questions I will try to answer them.
