After two weeks of wonderful sunshine and warm temperatures in
the mid eighties we have returned to the minus 20 weather of Canada.
We stayed off site at the Quality Suites Maingate East on 192 east.
We arrived late on Saturday afternoon after driving from Ottawa
Ontario. I called the hotels 1-800 number and requested a KISS
rate that I had seen at $59.95 a month ago. The Kissimmee web
site was listing it at $79.95 that week. And surprise we got it.
The one bedroom apartment incuded a daily breakfast of cereal,
pancakes, waffles, fruit, muffins, toast, juice milk coffee tea etc.
The afternoon 4-6p.m. had free beer, wine and pop by the pool.
The hotel was only about 25% full during the week and would
increase on the weekends.

We went to Magic Kingdom on Monday January 28 and in the first
hour of opening did Aladin, the treehouse, the Jungle Cruise,
Pirates of the Carribean (we were the only ones) and the
Thunder Railroad twice in the the first hour. The following Satuarday
the park was more crowded. This is my fourteenth trip to WDW and
I have never seen it so quiet.

Unfortunately, all good things come to an end and we had to drive
north. If you have any specific questions I will try to answer them.

Sounds like you had a great time - where did you eat, how many days did you spend at WDW - thanks for posting!

We spent two days at Magic Kingdom including
my 50th birthday. One day at Epcot and
MGM. The crowds were sparse at all
three parks.

We ate in alot and went to family style
restaurants each day for one meal.
This was definately a budget trip with
the US dollar costing Canadians $1.63
for each one.

We purchased 5 day hoppers at the hotel
and paid $220.00 tax included for each.
A small saving over buying them at the
park and we have days left.

Sounds like you had a wonderful vacation!

Welcome to the Dis! :) and thanks for sharing your trip with us.

Can you tell me what the weather was like. I know the winter months can be unpredictable, but I'm thinking about a trip about the same time next year and am a little curious about temps. Am I correct that you were there Jan. 27 - Feb. 6? I really like the idea of having a sparse crowd.
