Yeah, it took us all a while to get things worked out, but now we're ready for the next one.

OK, got kids to school (our last "first day" of kindergarten). Now just have to get DW to get the sadness out and feel normal again.

I knew she was going to have problems this morning. Letting go of the last one is bad enough, but he has severe peanut allergies and that was making her imagination run really wild. I'll give the school some high marks for the way they're handling it, though.

Schools are wonderful about handling those allergies! I don't want to frighten you....this is just a precaution.....but the only thing you need to worry about is what the parents bring in for parties and stuff. If there is a party, you might want to send a note home with all the kids asking parents not to send food containing nuts.

Yeah, Mom may be out of her funk in a day or two.

The school is handling this well. They have included a letter to parents in all the KG classes not to send peanuts or oil. The KG classes are pooling their resources to provide snacks instead of each kid bringing his/her own, and the principal discussed it in her first newsletter to the whole school, trying to get people out of the habit of sending peanut butter.

He's pretty good about checking on things, we're just walking on eggshells for a while!

From what I heard this morning they were still at it for a couple of hours after I left at 9:00 or so (CDT).
