resturants without reservations

We are on the deluxe dining plan for our Dec trip. I have made reservations for all but 1 of our meals. We are just going to wait until we get there to decide where to eat. What resturants might be available on short notice? We are very flexible on time. We are aware that we may have to eat room service or counter but think we should find 1 place.

We have had luck just stopping at guest services when we get to a park to find out availability.
We have also eaten at Nine Dragons (Epcot) a lot because they usually have a table. Turns out we now prefer eating there! I hope it's open in December!

ESPN at the Boardwalk does not take reservations so you may have a bit of a wait, but you will get in & I believe you can almost always get at a table at the Big River Grille & Brewing Works also at the Boardwalk, but the wait can be long on the weekends. Plus many of the resort sit-downs will usually have an opening. Like Scrubba2 said, you can just check with Guest Services at the parks or even Concierge at your resort that day & see what they have available. That being said, I've also been told by by concierge that absolutely nothing was available at O'Hana for the whole week, but we decided to check at the podium one night & sure enough they were able to accomodate us. Granted we had to wait an hour or so but we just sat at the bar & had a drink & it was fine.

TRex isn't taking reservations right now. And Planet Hollywood isn't for dinner, at least for Thanksgiving week, they aren't.

We did this over Spring Break and had good luck. We were able to get a table service meal at each park. (We had booked our trip pretty late and couldn't get many ADRs ahead of time.)

Beaches and Cream doesn't take reservations either.

Thanks, that helps alot. I thought about getting reservations now but we are usually very spontaneous and I am already worried we are too tied down with our other reservations. The places I really wanted to eat and the character meals I already have booked so we really aren't that picky where it might be.

We had good luck at The Kona Cafe in the Polynesian resort...got same-day reservations by calling Dis reservations around 8 a.m. of the day we wanted to eat there.

Also, last minute try The Wave at the Contemporary...when we were there in September, the place was 2/3 empty at 6:00 P.M., still more than 1/2 empty at 6:30 p.m. The food is very good but the restaurant is new this year so people just don't know it's there.

Planet Hollywood must be doing this for just special weeks. We have a dinner ressie there for Nov. 14th. They may take walk-ups too. Not sure but we made an ADR just in case. We just made the ressie last week and they were pretty booked for that night. We had to take a 9pm for our party of 6.
