so I broke my wrist on Friday, and we are supposed to be going to Universal in one month. If I still have a cast on when we go, are there any rides I will be restricted from due to wearing a cast? We are big coaster, thrill ride fanatics and if I cant ride any of the big rides, it's going to be a big bummer :(
TIA

Sorry about that complete nightmare:scared1:,I can't comment as don't know ,but would imagine it may.:headache: a few days before going to euro disney I tore my achilles tendon and was told there was no way I would be walking around theme parks..... I did:guilty:was in agony and had a leg/foot that looked like liver by the middle of the hols. I always walked as normally as poss incase anything was said but it wasn't.Someone however ,did have a footcast on and wasn't allowed on Rock n rollercoaster so you may have to hide it!! Hope someone with experience of this comes on soon.

I think a small wrist cast would be fine. Someone with a big leg cast or full arm cast I think would have a problem.

Well I wouldn't hide your cast just to get on a ride. The rule is there for your safety, and the ride could mess up your injury even more.

I totally agree cause I love universal's coasters but to try to hide a injury and take a chance on doing futher damage is not a good idea

Im sorry to hear this! I have a feeling a small cast as others would say would not pose a problem. However don't push yourself even if they let you on. The more you stress yourself the longer it will take to heal and the more you risk taking a trip to the ER to get it fixed on vacation! Hope all goes well. Remember to post back after you go so that we will all know for the future!

thanks for the replies...just got the cast on yesterday and it will come off 4 days before we leave for our trip, so now I don't need to worry about it!:thumbsup2

Just a suggestion. I broke my foot/ankle in a bad spot 8 weeks to the day before I was set to go to Universal Orlando. I didn't want to miss out on rides so I took my walking cast off the day before the trip. By the end of the first day walking in the parks I was in agony. My foot was 5 times the normal size and I had a huge mass of water under the skin around my ankle. It was so gross looking it nearly made me physically sick. I couldn't walk on it at all the next morning. It was extremely painful. Luckily I was able to stretch it out a lot and it got better for the next two days.

Next time I would bring some kind of brace. You might want to consider that because even though your arm won't be weight bearing, you don't want to get a hard knock to it. Some of the rides are a little rough and stop fairly short. This will hurt if your wrist is braced on a harness or bar. You will have lost a lot of muscle tone and range of motion. Plus, the injury will still hurt for many days after the cast is taken off. A removable brace from CVS might be a good idea. If they say you can't use it on a ride you could take it off. It will at least prevent your arm from moving in a way that hurts or injures it and it will provide some protection against a hard knock.
