I am going to wdw in August with my sister and her 3 children. Two girls and a boy, I don't think they will like character meals but could do with some advise on which resteraunts to take them. Its a 14 day holiday and definately want the following resteraunts
Le Cellier
Wolfgang Puck
Planet Hollywood
Narcoossee's
I am thinking about Boma's

but can you recomend about 5 more resteraunts, they are adventerous children who have never been allowed to eat of the child menu at resteraunts so there are no picky eaters.

Don't give up on the character meals. We just returned from a Christmas trip with 5 teenagers (13,17,18,2 X 19). We had booked Chef Mickey's and I didn't know how the teens would like it there - would they be too cool for the characters? It turns out they had a great time. It made me smile to look over and see 4 teenage boys twirling their napkins and smiling. They were quite willing to get up for photos with the characters and Goofy in particular played off their "coolness". Being able to eat as much as they wanted was a bonus.

Ohana at Poly for dinner, the Hollywood Brown Derby at the Studios. We have also had great lunches at the Crystal Palace at MK I know its a Char Meal but it is pretty good.

Ours who are 11 and 14 loved Yachtsman Steakhouse, Whispering Canyon and 50's Prime Time. Both ate off the adult menu on the dining plan and loved all the food choices. DSS11 gained 5 pounds in 6 days on vacation!

Definately do some character buffets. Our 18 year old DS still loves Chef Mickey and Crystal Palace (buffets seem to work best - this way he can eat as much as he wants to). He also loves 'Ohana (family style - so they keep replacing the food) and Boma (buffet - but not character).

We did Cape May Cafe for breakfast - which I love - but he is not a breakfast person. The Cape May Cafe Dinner Buffet is seafood which he loves so we always try to get there also.

Like a PP said, please do not give up on character meals. I carried DS17, DD16 and DDBFF for a week during the summer. They loved Coral Reef and Cape May Cafe character breakfast. The loved CMC so much we did it two days in a row!!! They had a lot of fun in the Crystal Palace and CMC acting up with the characters and getting photos made. It seems when they are dining with the characters, they can let themselves be free. They don't have to be cool the entire time because no one knows them and everyone else is having fun too. It's like you've not only given them a dinner reservation, but a time to just be themselves and have a great time!!! You will see totally different teenagers (than how they usually are) at WDW than any place else. Goofy and Tigger do seem to be the prime ones for acting up with though.

Have a great trip!!!

Sci Fi and 50s Prime Time, both at Hollywood Studios. And I'd suggest both for lunch. Sci Fi has burgers, onion rings and stupid B movie trailers from the 50s (and probably the 60s). Stupid goofy fun. 50s is "Mom's kitchen". Good place for a lot of kidding around. Your choice list sems to be a bit heavy on the "adult" side athough except for Narcooissee's not 'signature" restaurants.

Another fun thing would be Whispering Canyon Cafe. I'm just thinking of places where, in the infinite wisdom of teenagers, they could "torment" each other for days on "but you did X at Y".

they are adventerous children who have never been allowed to eat of the child menu at resteraunts so there are no picky eaters.

Same with my kids, I've only let them get plain pasta a couple of times (or just dessert), and that's only been if the menu is so limited even I don't want anything. :lmao:

Here's a list of my DS17's favorites:

Teppan Edo
Flying Fish
Brown Derby
San Angel
Shula's
Sci-Fi
(Cali Grill is my suggestion)

My DD13 has a similar list, but she's pretty big on the sweets.princess:

Thanks I will try some of the buffets (Robert should be going through a growing spurt by then according to my sister, at the moment the horror the girls are taller than he is :lmao: )

My two boys one teen and one early 20's but we have been going to WDW since before they were teens. Their favorite places to eat are:
Sci Fi
Rainforest Cafe
Planet Hollywood
House of Blues
Breakfast at AKL: Boma
They went trough a time when they did not want to do a Character meal but now think that it is kind of fun!!
They did not care for the 50's Prime Time. I like it so they are willing to go and enjoy for my sake.

We took high school seniors several times, some of the favorites were:

Boma (it was just fun)
50's Prime Time
Sci Fi (lunch)
Any place they like at Epcot (had some that loved Germany, some that loved Chinese/Japanese, but it all depended on what they liked normally and then go to that country)

Thanks for the advise, i was going to take them to Florida on my own but my sister didn't think I would survive the trip so she is coming too.

:lmao:

Our kids are 13 & 14, and here's the places that they request when I start the planning - it's getting difficult for me to try new restaurants with all their requests!

Sci Fi - DS's favorite
Coral Reef
ESPN Club (at the Boardwalk) - pub food, arcades, zillions of TVs
San Angel
Jiko - the food is incredible and you can see the animals at AKL

Garden Grill - Our kids aren't really interested in character meals any longer, but we've done qute a few. If you decide on doing one, the Garden Grill in fun, becoz the restaurant revolves (so slow you hardly notice) and it's fun to look up and see new scenery! Plus the food is good.
