Can anyone tell me about the 2 restaurants @ SSR? My husband and I just became DVC members and SSR is our home resort so I wanted to know if the food there is good. We are going to stay for 1 night in April after we go on the DCL and I am trying to decide where to have dinner. I love to plan where we eat at WDW!

The restaurants at SSR have pretty good ratings at allearsnet.com. Friends of ours went to the Turf Club in August and really enjoyed the meal. We also had ADR's for the same night , but didn't end up making it there. I was dissapointed that we didn't go after hearing their reviews. On well, there is always the next trip!

The sit-down restaurant, the Turf Club, is wonderful! It is open for lunch and dinner, and there is indoor as well as covered, outdoor seating overlooking the water. We have been there many times and have always enjoyed everything we have tried.
The counter service is your basic Disney fare.. the ordering area is quite small considering the size of the resort. We usually have breakfast here.

The Turf Club is delicious. This is one of our favorite restaurants in all of WDW! We almost always eat dinner here on our vacations( about 5 times a year). They have scrumptous steaks! This last trip we decided to finally try the Yachtsman Steakhouse as this is suppose to be one of the best steaks in WDW. I have to tell you the Turf Club blows Yachtsman out of the water! Also Turf Club is very good about special dietary and just plain old special request. We generally rearrange their menu slightly to fit my husbands allergies, my ingredient dislike and my DD's special request. :upsidedow

Our last trip, Turf Club was one of our favorite meals. Nothing fancy, but the food was done right and it was tasty. We were pleasantly surprised and would definately recommend it. The menu is limited which is the only drawback, but there really was something for everyone and we were a party of 10 people ranging in age from 3 yrs to 70 yrs.

Thank you all for your info! I didn't think about ADR's, but I guess if that's where we decide to go I should make them just in case.

We ate their on our August trip, we loved it so much that we cancelled an ADR at Tony's Town Square and went back again the next day! We have gluten allergies and some of us are vegetarian too, and they were just wonderful! I am thinking to go back again on my next trip!

Moving from teh Review Board to the Restaurant Board for more reponses :thumbsup2

I've never been to the Turf Club but I guess somebody should talk about Artists Palette. I like the food (flatbreads and sandwiches, haven't ordered anything else) but the setup seems sort of clumsy to me (you order the food, get a beeper, and when your food is ready they beep you. You pay for the food at the same register the store uses; fortunately you can pay for the food before you pick it up - in the time between when you place the order and when you get beeped). If there's a long line of people waiting to buy stuff, then it could take awhile. I think they need another counter just for the store.

We loved the Turf Club so well after last year that after our first visit, we cancelled out some other spot and booked the TC again!

Here are some photos from my hubby and mine's dinner there last June. I can still taste that steak!! It was melt in your mouth good!
