We will be staying on site so I was wondering if I if should make restaurant reservations, priority seating or depend upon showing my room key to depend upon FOTL? Does it matter? We'll be there the busy week between XMas and New Years.

We have used our room key for next available seating at City Walk restaurants with good luck. Sometimes there can still be quite a wait with the room key if a lot of other hotel guests got there before you. It never hurts to make a PS. The room key doens't help at restaurants in the hotels. I highly recommend a dinner at Tchoup Chop if it fits in your budget. Make your reservation there well in advance. We made ours on line at Open Table.

I would say if u can make a reservation or a seperate ps as the hotels will be full and a lot of guests will be flashing those keys

My family went here to eat at the RPH in June. We thought it was awful! My DH said that someone needs to call Emeril and tell him to "kick it down a notch"LOL. I thought that was funny.

Why was it awful? I've made a reservation there already. Should I keep it?
Definitely keep your reservation. This is the first bad post I've seen about Tchoup Chop. The food is outstanding and the service is perfect. We enjoyed dinner a lot more than lunch. Everything we ate from the appetizer to the dessert was delicious!

(Standing up..)Hi, I'm Goofy, and (mumbling under her breath) we too had a terrible meal at Tchoup Chop.

I never posted about it, because I figured it was just a total fluke. We ate there on August 11, 2003 for our anniversary and had the worst meal we have ever had in any restaurant. And we are used to upscale restaurants. I am a saltaholic and usually nothing is too salty for me. But my dish was not edible due to the vast amounts of salt on it. My husband's dish was equally salty. We had very late reservations (right before closing), so we just chalked it up to the food being over done that late. However, it must have been a bad night overall, because the couple in the booth next to us was ranting and raving about how awful their meal was. I have to say, the staff was more than apologetic and was bending over backwards to make things right for that couple.

However, due to the majority of people posting better than good experiences, I wouldn't cancel your reservations. The good reviews far, far outweigh the bad. And even if the food is not up to their usual standards (nobody can get it right 100% of the time), the surroundings and the service will make up for any shortcomings in the menu. So enjoy!!

I would keep your reservation we ate there in march and found it to be good service was good as well before we ate there another poster had said it was not too good and I had reservations about eating there as well but I am glad we did eat there well worth it :D
