Restaurants and HIFS

Can anybody tell me what restaurants and grocery stores are around HIFS? Can u tell my family eats a lot. LOL

When we were there last March, there were none in the immediate vicinity, but I read somewhere that there is a new Publix that has opened very close by. Can anyone who has been there recently confirm that?

Last year we drove to a Publix grocery store that took about 10- 15 minutes. There were some restuarants in that area as well, but I can't remember any besides a Wendy's that we stopped at one time. We ate mostly at the parks or HIFS or DD (which is a 5-10 minute drive)

Sorry, this hasn't really helped at all has it? Hopefully someone else will respond.

I do not know about the new publix but there is a publix that is 5 minutes away on 535. It is at the intersection of 535 and 192. If you go east from HIFS to 535 and south on 535 you cant miss it. If you turn left on 192 and go east maybe 5 more miles there is a super walmart. (On map it is right behind midevil times). As for as restaurants; again leave HIFS and go east back to 535. There are 50 restaurants within 5-7 minutes of HIFS.
Our experience.... We found walmart a little busier than publix but quite a bit cheaper. HAVE FUN /John

HIFS is pretty close (driving) to the "crossroads" area.[ hwy535 and the road that Downtown Disney is on.] (correct me if Im wrong, Im going by my old memory!). There are many restaurants at the crossroads area. To name a few....pizzaria Uno....Jungle jims....Chilis.

Thanks to all, it helps to know that there is something around close to the hotel. My husband and I love Olive Garden so Im hoping to find one of those close by somewhere. Thanks again. Our time is getting shorter and we cant wait. Its my moms first trip and I cant wait for her to see Cindys castle. (Isnt that supposed to be the other way around?) LOL

yes there is an olive garden too. If you go east from HIFS to 535 - i guess 1/2 mile then south on 535 to 192. then west just a few blocks ---you are at Olive garden.
