Restaurant Suggestions?!?!

I was in the same situation a few weeks ago, haha. We wanted something affordable and on the Monorail loop (so I have an excuse to wear my wedding dress on it), so we booked the Grand Floridian Cafe.

Did you just book a regular ADR and ordering from the existing menu? Or did you have them do something specific for you? If you don't mind me asking!!

Just to let you know, that before I opted for Citrico's, I looked into having the GF cafe too. I e-mailed the manageress and she was so lovely and helpful. She was more than happy for us to put favours etc on the tables etc. We were just planning to eat from the normal menu through a standard ADR. The deal breaker for us, however was that she couldn't guarantee that we would all sit together and couldn't move any tables to accomodate this. Otherwise, we may well have gone with them as they were so nice!!!! I wish I had the manageress e-mail to pass on to you girls, but unfortuately, I deleted it from my files!!!:sad2:

We're having a luncheon in the private room at the Wave after our VR. There will be 22 of us and the menu is fixed, but has several choices and includes dessert for $37 each (there is also a kids' menu available). The manager there has been wonderful to work with!

That's a great price.

Just thought I would add my 2c...

We have loved the Grand Floridian Cafe in the past, but went there for lunch on our past trip and were quite disapointed. I think the menu is quite different for lunch (although we both found things in advance we knew we would order!), the service was also quite poor. Could have been a bad day though, so don't let that put you off!

We also went for lunch at the Wave and it was really nice. Food was good, service was good, and you would definitley get away with staying in your wedding clothes!

Another thought - 1900 Park Fare - we looked at the menu and were suprised by how nice - and 'classy' - the lunch menu sounded for a buffet menu. You would also know exactly what you would have to pay in advance, and people could have as much / as little to eat as they wanted. I think it is characters though, but this could be a way to get cool shots without paying for characters at the wedding?!

Just a random thought!!

I don't mind at all! Since there's only 8 of us, we booked a regular ADR and will use the regular menu.

Personally, I don't mind if we're seated at different tables. We looked into The Wave, but they don't have a steak on the lunch menu so DF said it was no-go, lol. We thought about 1900 park Fare as well, but there are waaay to many sticky-fingered kids running around not paying attention to where they're going and who's around, and with our MK pictures a few days after the ceremony, I don't want to risk my dress getting trashed.

Huh?!? That could be a problem not being able to sit together. That's kind of the point, don't ya think?!?! We don't necessarily have to all be at the SAME table, but within talking distance would be nice. I've called and left a message for the manager to call me so I can ask all my questions. Still haven't made the FINAL decision as to where to go. I looked at Citrico's too online. But I figured they were out of our price range?? :confused3 If you don't mind me asking, will you be ordering off of the regular menu, or did you talk with them about customizing something?

We thought about 1900 Park Fare, but it said online they don't serve lunch. I called to make sure, and they don't. Too bad though, character pics would've been nice there.

I'm interested in this too.

If one does have a lunch reservation for Captains Grill or The Wave or the Grand Floridian Cafe, will they customize a menu for you? ie, the only one that has a steak on the lunch menu is the GF Cafe.

Our party size is 10 - 12 people. (My sister's wedding....I'm not the bride)..The ceremony will be an escape wedding at the Yacht Club Gazebo....

This makes the Captain's Grille the most convenient location......

I also saw some threads on here talking about The Wave's semi private room with different lunch minimums and a fixed menu. Does the fixed menu have a steak on it?

Thanks!!!!

Sorry it has taken me so long to reply!! We are eating off the regular menu at Citrico's but have dealt directly with the manageress, Vivianna. She has bee sooo helpful and has bent over backwards to help us. She even nade our reservation for us at the correct time and has been more than happy to have our favours arrive at the restaurant the day before and have my florists place our arrangements on the tables. I couldn't have asked for more!!!
