Restaurant reviews and recipes...formerly Disney QOTD

We liked Yak and Yeti. I had the chicken with rice which was really nice, and such a huge portion!

I have the Delicious Disney cookbook. And just had it out recently. If I recall correct, one thing odd about that book was there was no listing of recipes. Seems like you had to peruse by section.
Can't say I have ever used it. Just looked at it. :lmao:
Hard cover with photos. That's probably one reason for the cost.
LMK if you have any questions.

We ate once at the Y&Y counter service.
eh....
Since DH once said, no thanks, but he would be happy to try the sit down side.

I love pictures in cookbooks so that is one thing that always draws me to them.
I love reading cookbooks too.
Not having a recipe index is kind of strange.
Do you think it is worth the $40?.....of course, you probably didn't pay that :rotfl:

Yak & Yeti.....we've never eaten there.
Not sure I would.

Have not eaten there and since its in the AK never will becasue they have a Rainforest Cafe.

ROTD.....1-22

Pizza Planet

We went once or twice when the kids were younger......for them pizza and games can't be beat.
I went with Jean last year and had a salad. Terrible!!
Unless kids are along, I would never go back!!

And I really enjoyed our lunch and meeting Nancy. Food was ok, I was with my sister and nieces and they love pizza, so we always eat at the pizza planet when we travel together.

ROTD.....1-23

Yak & Yeti

Haven't eaten there

Yak and Yeti : counter service is awesome! Our kids even asked to go back there later in the week and ate the same things:goodvibes They loved the sweet and sour chicken and the honey chicken. These are the same kids who wouldn't try anyting new when we order Chinese take out at home.

Haven't eaten at the TS restaurant..but plan to in October.

We usually get pizza sent to the room when at Disney....love pizza, but NOT Disney pizza :rotfl:

recipe request....does anyone have the recipe for the Apple Vinegrette at WCC? I received a request from someone and I don't have it.

Yeah -- I did not pay $40. ;) I got it for less because the paper cover was ripped. So I just removed it entirely when I got home.
I just out the book and found the recipe for Tonga Toast. DH did not think we could make it to turn out like Kona Cafe. :rotfl2:
The book I have was (c) in 2006. And I do not see an index anywhere. :confused3
If anyone is interested I could pass it on for perusal. We could have a traveling cookbook. At least that way it may get some use. :lmao: Anyone wanting a recipe could just scan or copy it.
The book includes a recipe of the Grapefruit Cake so many rave about.
However I am not so sure these dishes cannot be found somewhere else too.

Thank you, Barbara.
Mad4Mickey wanted the recipe. Said that was the only reason she made the family go to WCC...and this last time they didn't have it anymore!!
I will pass it one.

I was just going to post the DIS thread with it, too! I never knew this one existed..I always look at allearsnet.

Back to see what else I can find there!:rotfl:

I was 2! And then we went every year until I was 10, I think and I've been several times after that with a total (I think) of 12 times, it will be 13 in March! All WDW.

LOL...the only time I have seen it open was when Pecos Bill was being refurbed and then it was serving that kind of food.
Never eaten there.

Long time ago.
We had even been at MK on busy days and it was still closed. :confused3
And as Meriweather mentioned when it was open during the Pecos Bill rehab, it was just the usual burger variety menu.
The few times we did eat there it was nothing worth mentioning. However we would have chosen eating there over Pecos Bill's.
I could not figure out why they did not use that counter service more than they did. I am sure the decision had to do with money. But I would have thought they would have had the business. :confused3 With that restaurant being closed so much, people just took it for granted they would not be open and stopped going IMO.
