Restaurant reviews and recipes...formerly Disney QOTD

My birthday a couple years ago, when a CM at the TOT gift shop yelled at the top of her lungs that it was my birthday and then sang happy birthday.

I've had a couple.

Lost my cell phone.....great CM at OKW tracked it down for me...with 1/2 hour until leaving time! I was so relieved. DD had just given it to me for my birthday. I wasn't used to having one.

And when BFF and I were there on our birthday trip, we went to go see Ellen's Energy Adventure and it was closed down. There were 2 CMs there by the rope. As we were turning around to head back, they called us over and gave us each 2 fast passes for any of the attractions at Epcot.

When we were in DL Feb/09 we had a CM with a wicked sense of humor on the Jungle Cruise. He kept us doubled over with laughter the entire ride, and were so impressed that we put a good word in for him at city hall. Went on it again with another CM, but it wasn't the same.

I don't have any really stand out stories, but I must say that I can't remember a bad experience with a CM, and that's pretty amazing in itself. I've made great a few trips to WDW, and 1 to DL, and I can say that I've never had a bad experience.

At Disneyland, we hired a VIP guide for the day as a treat, she was amazing. She really went out of her way to make our time at Disneyland special and went above and beyond both the time we spent with her and for the rest of our trip.

At WDW in the summer we met a lovely CM in line for Expedition Everest. I love rollercoasters and EE opened for DVC previews which I could have gone to the day after we had left on our previous trip. So since I was finally getting to ride it I made a tshirt saying 'finally going in search of the yeti' on it. The CM asked what the t-shirt meant so I explained. She said that as I had waited long enough to ride it I should ride it a few times so she gaves us some FP's which we could use straight away so we could go straight round and ride again.

At Disneyland Paris we were doing the tour of the MK park. Our guide Christophe was amazing, a true Disney fan. We had a lovely time with him as I was able to answer all his questions we chatted about all things Disney which he would not usually cover in the tour. We even chatted about Disneyland as we were going there a few months later and he had just returned from there.

I really don't have any stories, all the CMs have been very nice, but nothing really special to report on.

well, I'm in the office, so.....some Disney pencils & pens, a Little Mermaid photo holder, my Disneyland mug, my Ariel mug (both from you, Nancy!) a Princess candy bowl, some leftover Disney Halloween candy & I'm wearing my Mickey & Minnie holiday watch. It's probably a good thing I didn't answer this when I was at home!

 Most of our things are in boxes down in AZ.
The room I am in, my computer room, has the most of any of the rooms right now.
A springy Minnie suction thing stuck on the TV, a DLR mug with pens and pencils (about half which are Disney), a photo poster of the BFF trip, my Sept. 2010 cruise itinerary, about 5 Sorcerer Mickey framed posters and art work, 2 framed Mickey copywright items, little clock and a small trinket box....oh and a Mcikey pillow on the sofa bed.

I'm in my living room, not really a Disney oriented room, but prints of 5 of our home DVC's are here, VWL, BCV, BWV, VB and AKV, what's missing is SSR, but that's going to be a Christmas present from DS's family (that's what Santa's elf told me). 9 out of the 21 photos on a table were taken at WDW, with family and friends and lots of characters. I have DVC coasters around and then there are the many Christmas objects that I display that are from Diser exchanges, like the tablerunner and Christmas cards from Disboard friends.

So, not directly Disney, but lots of Disney memories here!

I am in my lounge right now and I can see:
On top of my piano: Small Mickey and Grumpy plush, Jim Shaw Minnie orniment, large villains snow globe.
On the mantle piece above the fireplace I have: 2 pictures of DH and I in MK, a bronze statue of Mickey conducting in his tail coat.
Also in the room I have my digital photo frame which is cycling through 200 Disney pictures (I currently have the pictures from Disneyland in the frame), a Mickey, Goofy, Donald and Bear totem pole from the WL, another framed picture of DH and I on segways in Epcot, a large canvas print of me eating an icecream in MK on Christmas eve (my friend took the photo and got it turned into a canvas), a sketch of Tigger, a cell with various Disney characters in, a picture of the 4 park icons and some characters, a shelf full of Disney DVD's.
Oh and through the door I can see my 7 foot Christmas tree totally decorated in only Disney orniments!!
Plus I have just been sorting out my pins for the pin exchange so there are 2 pin bags on my coffee table plus an assortment of pins I am just about to wrap up.

ETA: I forgot until I got up! I was sitting in my beautiful wooden Mickey Mouse canvas backed rocking chair! Oh and if we are adding what we are wearing in I have my Tinker Bell sweater on from DLRP and my Mickey watch from DL!

I am looking at 6 Disney items right now, on the top of my computer desk, in the corner of my basement! Beyond that, I have a Disney phone, Disney coupon, Disney Reward Card(s), Disney calendar, Disney beach towel (from a recent exchange), as well as Disney toiletries, a Disney gift box, Disney return address label sheets, Tinkerbell erasers, pens & pencils, DMC return cards (that I replied to online) - shall I continue? :confused3 DIS memorabilia from my various Meets, including a list and pins and collage.....More? Princess wall border, shower curtain, both packaged (anyone wanna buy?) and a lamp that was a DDs. More? I'll stop now. This is my Disney/Cubs corner of the basement/house. Don't ask me about the Cubs stuff, please! :scared1:

:rotfl:

I have my Jim Shore collection with Donald, mini Tink, and two mini Mickeys. Plus, a couple of Christmas Disney Jim Shore. Another Tink sitting on a piece a cake which I received from a Dis exchange. I have lots of Disney ornaments on the tree. My Fab 5 Garden Statues sit out all year round even through they are Christmas. I keep trying to add more and more Disney related items but my DH trys to keep me from adding any more. I just added a Thomas Kinkard Disney art print on my Christmas wish list, I hoping but don't think I'll get it.

Do you go to a park everyday on vacations? Or resort hop, have a pool day, DTD day or something else?

QOTD.....12-4

What Disney items are in the room you are in right now?

A lot, as I moved my curio's to the living room.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

We do go to the parks everyday, however this past trip we took time to do some resort
hopping too. We don't go to the pool as John doesn't like water and I don't want to
swim by myself.

When it is DH and myself, we do go to parks almost every day....we also like to go to DTD for a lot of evenings and some days too.
We resort hop for food :rotfl:

When BFF and I went, she had a 10 day hopper and we were there for 13 days, so we did resort hop....her first trip so it was nice for her to see all the resorts.

We take one day off in the middle to go in the pool and go to DTD. We used to not do that, but the kids requested it! They like being able to sleep in and play a little. Kids!! Wanting to rest on our vacation!!!:rotfl2:

Seen as we usually go to WDW for around 2 weeks we do have non park days. On those days we usually go somewhere off site (Kennedy, Busch Gardens etc) but we would still eat on site in the evening at a resort hotel. Our UK tickets are hoppers with water park access anyway so we use those features. Seen as we usually stay at the BCV even if we have been off site for the day we might just pop into Epcot just to watch Illuminations.
