Restaurant reviews and recipes...formerly Disney QOTD

Scoop Sanderson is a character. So our most memorable is definitely with him. I was presented a Scoop pin by Scoop, and that was the same day we were Grand Marshals in the MK day parade. :cloud9:
Scoop pin: Pin 18808: WDW - Scoop Sanderson PTP

I don't meet the characters, so no memorable moment.

Not too many here.....but Chip danced with BFF at Chef Mickey's on her birthday.
And Goofy was going to come home with us after a signing....took us each arm in arm and walked out the door with us. :rotfl:
Lots of fun.

And then of course there was that private time with Capt. Jack on Castaway Cay :faint:

And...I want to thank Heidi (Pooh67_68), Karen (Danauk), Lynne (pennst8r) and Trish (BELLEDOZER) for sending in questions to ask. That will get us a bit farther.
If anyone else has any, please send them to me ::yes::

Last year at DLRP we were having a character meal at a buffet. Pete and I had gone for deserts and had a few small cakes on our plates. Tigger came over, took Pete's plate from him, pointed to his tummy and made a 'it's too large' movement (he isn't actually over weight) and gave him an apple!!

What has been your most memorable encounter with a character?
James and I were having a character breakfast at the Beach Club. Donald was one of the residents that morning and while I was tucking into my Mickey waffles he crept up behind my shoulder and made duck/raspberry/popping noise in my ear! It made me jump and because James was sat opposite me he saw the whole thing unfold. It was one of the funniest things that happened on our trip and we still make that oppoing noise with our lips as a funny reminder of that moment!

Do you go to a park everyday on vacations? Or resort hop, have a pool day, DTD day or something else?

I usually purchase 10 day, non-expiration tickets with no park hopper so we can't park hop. We usually go to the parks about 3-4 times during our 7 day trip to WDW. If the weather is good we will hit the water park one day and the boys usually enjoy Disney Quest while we go shopping in DTD. If we have any other days left over than we just do a resort day and hang out by the pool, once again that's if the weather is good.

What has been your most memorable encounter with a character?

When the boys were young they loved the characters, nothing funny or anything, just loved watching them around the characters. Now that they are older it's hard to even get them to go to WDW.

What Disney park that you have never been to, would you most like to go check out?
Any plans for doing so?

We were originally going to go to WDW in 2011. But have decided that we would rather drive to DL instead, and drive the Oregon and Washington coast on the return leg of our trip (we drove the California coast last time). I would like to eventually see it, and the one in Paris which I've heard alot of good things about.

I've only ever been to WDW Fl. I would love to see Disneyland. I think it would be interesting to go to DL Paris or Tokyo, but maybe not with the kids. :goodvibes

We keep talking about Disneyland, but its a 6 hour flight. I have a hard enough time sitting still for the 2 hour flight to WDW, I think the flight to Disneyland would drive me over the edge.

I want to go to Tokyo Disney I think, but Paris too.

We do that flight all the time, Heidi. Don't like it, but take enough to keep busy. Red eyes work the best for me, but our airline doesn't do one anymore :(
Movies and earphones help tremendously.

What Disney park that you have never been to, would you most like to go check out?

I have never been to DL Paris, considering I live pretty close by. It's always the relative cost that's put me off to be honest. A 5 night-4 day stay in a Disney resort hotel costs almost as much as WDW! I costed it up for a December visit for 2010 and thought we'd be better off saving £2000 for our WDW trip in 2013....

If I could find a cheap deal for a 4/5 day trip which including seeing the city of Paris then I'd go, but I just cannot justify the spend with relation to the cost of a WDW holiday which is infinitely better (and not cold!). :rotfl:

I want to go to Disneyland Tokyo mainly to see Disney Tokyo Sea. We do have plans to go there in a few years time after our trip to Australia (where we will hopefully have a stop over in Hong Kong and you know what I could visit whilst there!!)

Heidi, our flights to WDW are just over 8 hours, to get to Disneyland it is 11 1/2 hours!! After a few of the 10 - 11 1/2 hour LA/Vegas trips the transatlantic flight to Orlando actually seems like short haul to me now!!

I haven't been to DL in CA since my teenage years and would love to go back. I think it would also be kind of different to try Disney Tokyo, probably will never get the chance.

Nancy John told me to ask my doctor for valium. :teeth:

Karen I don't know how you do it, I would be in the bathroom screaming.

:rotfl: Maybe a sleeping med would help.
I am flying to Barcelona next Sept..... Not looking forward to that at all. I can't even sit still to watch a whole movie. I need to move around.

When we go to Australia in a few years time that will be a 11 hour flight to Hong Kong or Singapore follwed by a 12 hour flight to Sydney!! Now that I will have problems staying sane on!! We have made sure though we have collected enough air miles to upgrade classes, I really don't want to go all that way squashed in economy!

Good luck to the both of you on your upcoming long flights. :wizard: :wizard:

Karen smart move on the upgrade. :thumbsup2
