Restaurant reviews and recipes...formerly Disney QOTD

We are having taco's.

If someone here doesn't want what I cook there is always something else to eat (hot dogs, frozen pizza etc)

Dh made a rule long ago though, that if you didn't like what was cooked, you fix your own. Now this is funny since I do ALL the cooking! Why does he care, but I guess he is looking out for me... :rotfl:

I will say though that I do cook 2 things sometimes. Especially if I know the boys won't eat it. And Gavinn is a VERY picky eater. And he is 4 so I don't really let him do too much cooking yet! :lmao:

He ends up eating A LOT of hot dogs and applesauce!! -his favorite! and yes he dips his (cold) hot dog into the applesauce ~~~ eeeewwww. HE LOVES IT! DH doesn't like that I let him do that... but I say, fruit and protien! Right?

Of course I also let the boys put coffee creamer in their milk. DH HATES that... but its the same as adding chocolate syrup!

We really are not that weird!

Nancy - you should do a weird food question... What do you eat that other people find weird/yucky! My kids could come up with some humdingers!:banana:

We had pizza for tonight's dinner. My family always ate what I had on the table. None of my boys were picky eaters.

My DH has known several people growning up who have committed suicide but I haven't known anyone personally who has died this way. Known individuals who have died in bad accidents. The latest one was a young 19 year old who broke his neck in a 4 wheel accident. He played baseball on the high school team with my middle son. It really hit my son hard, he was the second friend of my son's who has died in a accident in the last year and a half. The first was a car accident. His friend was in the back seat without a seat belt on, the driver loss control of the car and hit a tree, she died from a broken neck. My son was texting her just seconds before the accident, he was the last to communicate with her. He will never forget her, she will always be in his heart.

It is hard to lose friends so young.
DD lost a classmate to a motorcycle accident when she was in middle school.
And several friends to suicide and auto accidents in college.

DS has lost a friend to leukemia and some in college to suicide (I think that is so sad that so many suicide in college).

We, of course, have lost friends to accidents.
A young son of a neighbor to an auto accident. That was a really hard one.
And a friend in a mountain climbing accident.

I wasn't going to post because it still bothers me, but we know a couple who's youngest daughter (6) was shot and killed by another child (10) because he decided he didn't want to play fair. He got mad went home took out his dads gun (had to get the bullets from another place) loaded the gun, stuck it out the window and shot her.

That is so sad, Heidi :(

WE'll use Alisha's question for today ;)

What do you eat that other people find weird/yucky!

Not weird but definitely something a lot of people find yucky.

Liver and Onions

Also I love fruit cake and eggnog.

I've been thinking all morning...when I was a kid, I used to eat Cheez Whiz sandwiches. but I haven't eaten them in a long time, I just can't think of anything weird.

hmmmm.......when I was a kid, it was potato chips on tuna sandwiches. And pickle sandwiches.
Now......nothing too bad, I guess. Maybe mustard and dill relish on chili dogs, but they used to have that at DQ so it must hot be too weird.

DH likes shrimp and artichoke heart pizza

I know someone who does cheez whiz and tobasco sauce sandwichs. Pretty much all my friend can get her DS to eat.

Not sure if this counts as weird, but I love lettuce sandwiches.

Extremely fresh white bread, lots of mayo, salt, pepper and lettuce.

Hi, I'm new here. Not to the Dis, just to this section. I would like to start getting involved if that's OK. I'm a 39 yr old married wife and mother to 2 kids, DD-12 and DS- 15. Of course I LOVE all things Disney. And I've even gotten my 2yr old niece addicted to "Mick Mouse" I teach Kindergarten and always try to incorporate Disney into everything, LOL.

And as for weird foods, I add lemon juice or worchestershire sauce to almost everything. My friends always think that's weird. As a kid I loved to eat saltine crackers soaked in lemon juice.

Welcome to the exchange board!! I will get back to the Disney questions as soon as I get back from this vacation.

My father used to eat liverwurst and grape jelly sandwiches.
And he would have cucumber sandwiches when I had my pickle ones.

I will second the liver and onions. Love it.

I also like tomato sandwiches with a very, very thin coating of mayo on the toast.

My neighbor's daughter used to eat ketchup and mayo sandwiches all the time.:scared:

I've got to say a tomato sandwich on toast with a bit of mayo sounds good. Hummmm, dad just bought some really nice tomatoes, we've got some bread.......;)

I ate mayo sandwiches as kid a lot, and my sister ate mustard sandwiches.
mayo sandwiches
I love potato chips on my luch meat sandwiches, I also eat mustard on turkey sandwiches (not lunch meat, real roasted turkey).

mmmmm.........question for today

What are the favorite things that you like to do when you have out of town (or out of state) visitors?

We go canoeing on the Clarion River. It's absolutely beautiful. :goodvibes

My goodness....one of the great things about living in NY is how much there is to do here. In the summer, we take them to the beach (a 20 minute car ride), the local park has a great pool, and we have some nice local amusement parks (nothing as grand as Disney or as big as Six Flags, but still, a nice little park only 30 minutes away). If you don't mind a longer drive, we can go to the Hamptons. We also have tons of shopping malls & outlets so you can shop till you drop.

If we take the train (about an hour's ride), we can go to NYC....see the Empire State Building, the Statue of Liberty, museums, Macy's, Rockefeller Center, etc. etc. etc.

If you like sports, well, there is Yankee Stadium, Citifield, Madison Square Garden, the Nassau Coliseum.....

C'mon & visit!
