I just booked our Disney trip for the end of September with the meal plan. We have never eaten at Disney before and I really want to pick the most enjoyable places for my kids ages 11 and 7. Can you guys please suggest some can't- miss places and character dinings for us to use our meal tickets at? Also, do I need to make reservations for all of the places we eat at? Thanks so much for your help, I really appreciate it!

We are using all our table service meals for character dining, but with your trip coming up so soon, you might have a hard time getting an AR - never hurts to try... I have booked dinner at 1900 Park Fair (Cindy's grand feast), dinner at Liberty Tree Tavern, and breakfast at Crystal Palace. ::MinnieMo

Check out allearsnet.com They will have all the info you need to pick which meals you would like to go to. I would make the ADR's as soon as you figure out where you want to eat. With the free dining some ADR's may be hard to get.

If your kids like Pooh and friends the Crystal Palace breakfast buffet is awesome. We liked it better than Chef Mickeys as far as the food goes.

I really loved the theming at Prime Time 50s Cafe - Sci Fi Dine In was too dark for me, cute but just average food.

My kids, (11 and 8) loved the Biergarten in Germany - actually they also enjoyed the other Epcot restaurants we tried - China's Nine Dragons, Teppanyaki, Rose and Crown, and Chefs de France. They liked dessert at Alfredos but the entrees were just average.

We also enjoyed the Plaza Restaurant at MK - didn't have an ADR and it was not a problem to get a seat - sandwiches were very good.

We just got back from Disneyworld on Sunday, we did the Disney Dining and loved it. There was pleanty of food and we got to eat at restaurants we would not have the budget for. My kids ranged in age from 5 (twin boys), 9 (boy) and 19 (girl).

The first day we ate at Wispering Canyon for lunch (at Wilderness Lodge), then at Cinderellas Castle for the evening meal. Cinderellas was nice, the 19 yr old loved it the 5 yr olds didn't care. Cinderella was there and spent some time posing w/ kids for pictures.

The next day we ate at Le Cellier (Epcot - Canada), I loved the food, kids (except 19 yr old) thought it was o.k. Best Steak and presentation of the trip.

The next day we ate at Crystal Palace. I would highly recommend at lunch or dinner w/Characters. We got good time with the characters and the food was really good. All my kids enjoyed.

We had another character dinner at Garden Grill (Epcot - Land), food was good, the characters were Mickey Mouse, Chip & Dale, and Pluto. They came by the tables but didn't interact (except Pluto), as well as the characters at the Crystal Palace did. My kids liked the fact the restauant revolves so the scenery changes.

The last meal was Sci- Fi Dinner theatre. I was expecting the food to be just o.k. but I really enjoyed it, far better than what some of the other reviewers thought. The kids hardly said a word they were so taken by the setting and movies going on. They didn't want to leave.

Hope this helps, try counter service at downtown disney - Wolfgang Puck express -- it was wonderful.

The meal plan was great, we needed no extra cash (ended the trip w/18 snacks still unused - loaded up on fruit and chips for the ride home), we added up our tickets -- well over $980.
The other two places we ate were
