Hi

I'd love to hear from you guys on which restaurants you think are the best at DLRP.

I imagine the California Grill is great but its a bit over my budget so i'm hoping to get recommendations for more modestly priced restaurants.

I've heard great things about The Steakhouse so will probably go there one night.

And any restaurants you think should be avoided?!!!

Thanks

Eloise

The buffet at Inventions at DLH has a nice food selection.
Blue Lagoon is well thought of and of course being inside POTC is unique that you are part of the ride ;)
In the Village Anettes Dinner is a fav of ours and not too expensive :)

A second one for Blue Lagoon, and in the village King Ludwigs has a good offer before a certian time (I think it's 7pm) buy an adult meal and get a childrens free and it' s really nice inside. Also love the Rainforest Cafe, although it's a bit overpriced, the servigs are quite big and the theming is great which is a bonus when you've got bored children waiting for their food.Someonewill give youj alink for the dlp food guide with loads of info (sorry I can't remember it!) but I think on there and maybe elsewhere on this board I've heard mixed reviews about the steakhouse whichhas put me off.

Is it just me - or is there anyone else who just can't bring themselves to pay 45 euros per person for a meal? It's probably because I'm not a foodie, but it still seems an awful lot of money - however good the food, or pleasant the restaurant. :confused3

Grumble over - here's the DLP Foodguide!!

It's not just you! Holy moly, 45 euros per person for a buffet? Who is carving the meat, Eisner???!!!! :rotfl:

Yeah, that is way over my budget i'm afraid. 30 euros a head tops for dinner and that must include a beer for DH and bottled water for me.

Thanks for that link!

Having the 20% discount coupon from the annual passport helped, but I agree it is a lot of money :)
Mind you our dearest meal yet at DLP has been Rain Forest Cafe :confused3

I can highly recommend the Blue Lagoon and Annettes Diner (the Blue lagoon was cheaper, and we had a bottle of wine!) although it was helped by our AP 20% vouchers. Still have 2 vouchers to use on our next trip, and I am sure we will end up in the same 2 places! (unless anyone has any other recommendations!)

Hi Booknut, Our favourites are Inventions, Blue Lagoon (for the atmosphere), and Annettes DIner. The only really horrible meal we have ever had at DLP was at the Steakhouse I'm afraid to say. It was awful both times we went, cold food and poor service.

We love Annette's Diner for a fun, and reasonable meal with better than average food (American diner style food).

We really enjoyed Auberge de Cebdrillon but this may not be one for you if you have no Dds ;)

Blue Lagoon is fabulous, price on a par with Auberge.

I am afraid I have to agree with nicola about the Steakhouse. I have had very very few absolutely apalling meals with no redeeming qualities to them at all in my life....... but the Steakhouse was possibly the worst meal I have ever endured. Sadly it was on my 30th Birthday too. Never mind :)

Another recommendation for Annette's we loved the atmosphere , they had quite a big selection ie, they managed to cater for a pasta loving 3 year old (DD), a non-beefy adult (me) and a burger freak (DH). I can recommend the BALT(BLT with Avocado) and the ice cream milkshakes - yum !

We actually had a nice meal in the Steakhouse however the atmosphere was a little adult for DD.(Too much crockery on display - I was constantly on tenterhooks).

King Ludwigs was good and at the time we went we got childs meal free.

A number of the restaurants have a fixed meal ( 3 courses for around 28€ - I think) so you can eat well however we did really enjoy the food at Inventions too even if it was a little more expensive.

Hi Booknut,

I will second/third/fourth the recommendations for Blue Lagoon and Inventions and add Walts, which I think if it came to a push is probably my favourite. However it depends who you are travelling with - my kids would probably tell you their favourite was Au Chalet de la Marionnette at least we are all in agreement about Plaza Gardens!!! So there you go our family's top 4
Walts, Inventions, Plaza Gardens and Au chalet de la Marionnette............oooh I'm getting hungry just thinking about it! :goodvibes

Kaye

PS While we absolutely love the Blue Lagoon and have gone on both our previous trips, it is more for the wonderful atmosphere than the food - which was still good!

Another vote for Annette's, big portions (make that 'giant portions'), reasonably priced, and great atmosphere even more so if you've got kids. My 3 year old son loved it and was dancing away with the staff.

Inventions is our favorite The atmosphere is great and the food. We are not drinkers so that helps with the rest of the bill. I would happily eat cheaply 2/3 nights to be able to eat there.
we also like Annettes and the buffet in Billy Bobs.
We want to try King Ludwigs this time
Nikki

We went to Inventions on our last day last week. I mistakenly thought there would be characters there, which was why I suggested it, but there aren't at lunchtime. There was an excellent spread though there were a lot of things I personally would not choose to eat - what I call "posh nosh" - I'm not overly keen on stuffed vine leaves for instance! It was 35 euros per person but 2 bottles of diet Coke cost another 9 euros on top which I thought was just ridiculous. Very nice setting but I wouldn't pay the equivalent of £54 again for a lunch buffet without characters.

Ouch. At those prices you would have thought they would have thrown in Mickey and Minnie :teeth:

I am glad you mentioned it as I would have presumed that as the price was the same it was also a character meal.

Oh Di,Thats terrible, I feel really guilty for always recommending it now :guilty: . I thought there was always characters at Inventions - we must have just been lucky! :confused3

But nevertheless the Inventions is great for Dinner! We were there last year and that was such a great experience. Very nice food (things you would never make for yourself) and the characters were worth the extra money. They came to every table, and spend some time even with adults! We were there for over 3 hours!
We paid for 2 adults with 2 bottles of water 92€! (10% shareholders discount)

But I wouldn’t go there for lunch without the characters!

With 2 teenagers in tow their fav place when we visited wasPlanet hollywood. We did enjoy the food & got the bill to below $100 due to the coupon in Simon's book.

We stayed at Camp Davy Crockett & ate at the buffett there which we thought was good value plus characters. But of course you need acess to a car to get there.

We also ate off site at the Chinese Restaurant at the Val D' Europe shopping centre & will def eat there again.
