Restaurant Recommendations for two First-Timers w/o Kids :-)

My DH and I love Jiko, and I am surprised that didn't make your list. We have never dined at Boma, but I know it has many fans here. We just prefer the sit down atmosphere and love the feel of Jiko.

The others that would round out our top 5 are: Artist Point, California Grill, Kona Cafe, and Le Cellier.

Without kids I'd say:

California Grill
Le Cellier
Flying Fish Cafe
San Angel - I know this one gets mixed reviews but the atmosphere makes it and I've always had a good meal
O'Hana - again, it gets mixed but I've always enjoyed my food. If you time it right you can see the fireworks. Atleast you used to be able.

I have not been personally but I'd love to try Jiko. I'm going for business in may and will be trying Boma for the first time.

DBF and I are about your age and on our last trip we really enjoyed Kona Cafe, Rose and Crown Pub, Boma and Spoodles.

This trip we will be dining at:

Bluezoo
Jiko
Spoodles
San Angel Inn
Rose and Crown
Cinderella's Royal Table dinner (We really want to see the inside of the castle, we are not expecting stellar food there)
Olivia's at OKW
Palio
Kona Cafe
Boma
Le Cellier
Bistro de Paris
50's Prime Time (for the experience, since DBF's never been)
Hollywood Brown Derby
and
Mama Melrose's Ristorante Italiano

We are also doing a character breakfast at Crystal Palace. We like to do at least one character meal a trip. It just feels so "Disney"!

On our list for "next" trip in November are:
Artist Point
Portobello Yacht Club
Narcoossee's
Citrico's
Victoria and Albert's
Yachtsman Steakhouse
Flying Fish Cafe

There are so many great places to dine in WDW! I would recommend looking over the menus for some of these places on Allearsnet.com and choosing based on that. Enjoy your trip! I don't believe you- "once in a lifetime"rs become hooked every day! :wizard:

Remaining questions:
1) Le Cellier or Yachtsman? Bad steak is the worst since it's the most expensive kind of bad food.
2) Whats this Kona Cafe place? I havent even heard of it.

1) Haven't been to either but I have a Le Cellier ADR for August. I chose based on the menus and reviews.

2) Kona Cafe is my favorite restaurant (not one of . . my absolute favorite) and one of the best values in WDW. I have an ADR for a breakfast and a dinner for August.

They have fresh fruits, juices, smoothies, and unusual items at breakfast like the Tonga Toast that has been served at the Poly since the Poly opened- before Kona opened! It is truly the best fried cinnamon sugar coated banana stuffed French Toast ever! They have French Press Pots of Kona Coffee and lost of yummy Coffee concoctions.

At Lunch, the salads and sandwiches are upscale Asian fusion cuisine and are beautiful and freshly prepared. They have a sticky wing appetizer that is to die for and their salads are incredibly fresh and tender with flavorful dressings.

At Dinner, you cannot beat the seafood creations like macadamia crusted mahi mahi, Kona Chowder (one of the best lobster/seafood bisques ever!) and creative desserts like Kilauea Torte (a chocolate lava cake) and Banana Caramel Creme Brulee.

Enjoy!

hoop de doo is fun, food is just ok...when i went it was free 'cause i went as part of a college trip and it was a free bonus.....i liked it but i wouldn't pay $50 for it unless i was taking kids to see it...

im going with my BF (his first time) in May and we're on a budget so the only restaurants we are trying are
marrakesh
and the teppanyaki -as a surprise (my bf like japanese food and LOVES to talk to random strangers so i think as long as we get good table-mates, this should be a good one.....come to think of it...in WDW random ppl always start convos with each other so he should be in his element)

i really wanted to try boma, but i dont want to take a whole night out of a park for dinner

Victoria and Alberts, if you are true foodies and you can get it then the chefs table, bit it is hard to get.
California Grill
Artists Point
Jiko
anf off site I'd go to Texas de Brazil
