Restaurant Priority Seating

Going in July and staying onsite - Would it be strongly advised to make priority seatings in advance, or does staying onsite give you priority seating without an advance reservation?

Staying on site gives you next available seating. We have been there when the Hard Rock Cafe had a line around the building. We went to the door and showed our room key and were seated in five minutes.

Next available seating doesn't override those with priority seating reservations, does it? Plus we are a family of six, might be harder to get a table?
