Yea from us too. We've never had anything bad there. I don't know why we haven't been back in awhile.... I guess there's just too many places that we either love & must do, or that we want to try.
One thing - those chairs are soooo hard. They need some padding to make it really enjoyable.
The food was wonderful and the service was excellent. It is a great dining and the best at AKL.
But, it does not make my "travel list". If I were staying at AKL or doing AK Park, then I would make an ADR there. If staying at a different resort, then I would not travel there just for Jiko.

We were considering the same thing on our upcoming trip. We're staying in the Epcot area, and planning on spending most of our time in Epcot, so we had no plans on going to Jiko. We decided, though, that we like the Animal Kingdom Lodge and the restaurant enough to make the trek on a Magic Kingdom night.
It's a bit of a haul, to be sure, but I find the atmosphere of the entire resort to be fairly relaxing, so I think it's worth it.
I have only eaten there once (so far), but I thought it was a wonderful experience. I would argue it is the most romantic dinner spot with the dark, intimate feel of the restaurant. The service was good and the food excellent. The wine was, of course, another major selling point.
