We were in Orlando from March 1-8 and ate at a few offsite locations so I thought I'd add them here. Any ?'s let me know.
California Pizza Kitchen located on the second level by the foodcourt in the Mall of the Millenia. This is a nice sit down restaurant FYI. DH and I had their speciality pizzas --they are just a little larger than a dinner plate. Mine was ok - Hawaiian pizza, and DH loved his Sicilian. DD 5 yrs. was thrilled to have plain pasta with butter and parmesan cheese. Service was slow but we would go again. Give it a 7.
Bahama Breeze on Intl. Drive - went early in the week so we waited about 10 minutes for a table. Food was good although they got our steak orders mixed up. I ordered well and DH ordered medium. I tried the beef and chicken kabobs. It came on a bed of rice. Yummy and very filling. DH had sliced steak tenderloin and it was also very good. Food an 8.
Logan's Roadhouse, Irlo Bronson Mem. Hwy. - our favorite last year - was at the bottom of the list this year. The salad was old, wilted and saturated with dressing. The steak wasn't very hot, chewy and had a strange flavor I didn't like. The 'good' shrimp (the waitress suggested to avoid the grilled shrimp because they taste like paper) were ok but nothing to brag about. I got the loaded potato which cost a buck or two extra for a sprinkle of cheese and bacon. Hmmmm. The best part of the meal was the fresh bread. Give Logan's a 4 this year.
Cheesecake Factory at the Mall of the Millenia on a Friday evening. Waited about 20-30 minutes for a table. Service was incredibly slow. I'm a very patient person but I was ready to let my DH sit there alone and wait for the bill while I wandered the mall. The food was excellent. I had a chicken sandwich with fries, DH had chicken and shrimp bang bang? and LOVED it. (Spicy chicken and shrimp in a sauce with coconut and a big ball of white rice.) I was really too full to eat the cheesecake but I tried DH's. He had the plain cheesecake with the strawberries on top. He paid extra for the strawberries - which included exactly THREE strawberries. Wow, how could they? DD had plain noodles and finished the whole bowl. A first! Food I would give this place a 8 and service about a 3.
Great Western Buffet on Intl. Drive. Heavily advertised in the freebie magazines. DON'T GO HERE. DD refused to eat anything and only drank her milk. Afterwards I decided she was the only smart one of the three of us! Scary scary place. It said kids buffet with the usual. The hot dogs were greasy and looked like they had been there for WEEKS. Ugh ugh ugh. One piece of pizza was flipped upside down. I saw the owner flip it right side up and never bothered to replenish it. Chicken nuggets were unrecognizable. Thinly sliced meat was supposedly good DH said. Looked scary to me. I took the even scarier chicken which was good if you got rid of the skin. We opted to skip out of the ice cream bar and head to Downtown Disney for Mickey ice cream bars. Thankfully no one got sick here but I would never go back.
Cattleman's Steakhouse on Intl. Drive. (right next to Bahama Breeze). DH had an absolutely awesome piece of prime rib. I had the shrimp which was also very good. DD had their mini pizza and it looked good as well. The only rip off was the salad bar cost an extra $2.99. We had it because it looked so good and fresh, but it seemed a little high for a salad that should just come with the meals. They didn't charge us for DD who wanted a salad as well so that was nice. Service was attentive and quick - we were there early in the evening. I'd give this place an 8 for food. A little higher priced than necessary but the food was good.
Kind of long but hopefully it will help someone!
