We will be taking our first trip to US and IOA in March and need help deciding on a couple of restaurants. Have two children (DD 13 and DS 8). What restaurants would be fun, i.e. "cool" :cool1: for this age group??? Is it necessary to make reservations for this time or can we just walk up without a long wait???

Thanks to all you experts our there that can give this newbie some advice!!! :D

When in March do you plan on going? If you go during the Spring Break period, there will be long lines for everything, including restaurants. (though not too bad at lunch time in CW)

I'd personally recommend Hard Rock Cafe and NBA City.

We are going in march too I would say with kids at those ages HRC and margritville NBA Nascar etc are sure ti be winners:jester: but as DM says spring break big crowds but if staying onsite you will have ps seating with room key apart from weekends:jester:

WOHA, highlander, what do you mean "apart from weekends"?

Onsite doesn't get priority seating at restaurants on the weekends???

How should I handle meals then? a reservation?

Onsite may or may not get priority seating on weekends. Reservations would be a good idea, and you can make reservations at the front of either park. There's even a stand in IOA that is devoted soley to booking ressies.

I would add Motown Cafe. Food is good, not great, but good. Atmosphere however, is out of this world. We loved it and would go back because of the atmosphere.

Thanks everyone for the advice...please keep it coming!

We are going the 1st week of March so hopefully we'll be ahead of most of the spring break crowd. Was leaning toward Margaritaville and Nascar, but Motown sounds interesting. Can anyone give me some idea of the atmosphere there? Do we need priority seatings for any/all of these places; we are planning on doing late lunches (2:00ish) if that makes a difference.

I found Margarittaville to be crowded. Food ok but nothing great. They did have some entertainment for the kids the night we were there (stilt sp? walkers making balloon animals).

Motown Cafe was less crowded. It wasn't what I thought it would be - the music they were playing at the time; well there is much better motown music, so I don't know what was up with that... there was a pool table upstairs (we had the area all to our selves because I don't think many people know it's there).

Latin Quarter had nice food - it's sort of a dimly lit place. They had one guy playing music on the stage when I was there. It was ok but again nothing too special.

So far at City Walk I have yet to be "wowed" by any of the places, but the food is good and a reasonable cost.
