Has anyone ever used the site restaurant.com to get/use restaurant coupons? Seems too cheap..so I'm wondering what the "catch" is. You can get a $25 gift certificate for Shula's, Bluezoo, or House of Blues on there for $2 after using a certain promotional code.

Are there any other sites like this?

Thanks.

I have used Restaurant.com coupons for places in my own city. They are great but the catch is you have to spend over $35 or whatever is listed (without tip/taxes). Therefore the minimum you'd have to spend is $10 ideally but it never seems to work out that way for us! And you can only use 1 coupon per table.

If you stick to the minimum you have to spend which is usually $35 for a $25 coupon then you really are getting a deal but usually we end up spending so much more lol.

Shulas and blue zoo are expensive restaurants so a $25 coupon (that requires you to spend $35) will actually be a lot more. I went to blue Zoo a while ago and we spent $150 on an appetizer, 2 entrees, one dessert, and 2 martinis. And that wasn't even the expensive entrees.

 That is awesome. Totally get it. I wish they had them last time I went to Disney.

As other said, you just have to read the fine print on the side before you buy. Sometimes you can only use a coupon on a weekday, or alcohol doesn't count toward the minimum, etc. They also usually automatically add gratuity with the coupon.

But it's not a ripoff or scam at all. I have used them dozens of times at restaurants here in Chicago.
