Has anyone ever had difficullty used gift certificstes from resturant.com?
I got one for Blue Zoo and one for House of blues.Thanks to mousesavers.
2 dollars for a 25 dollar certicficate for each .ALmost sounds to good.

I know some people that have used it ...I do believe that you have to spend a certain amount for the 25.00 one......I think your bill has to come to 35.00 which is not bad .....look over the requirements.....I am also going to put this on the budget board because alot of the posters there will know more about it..

No problems whatsoever. I use Restaurant.com coupons ALL the time since I eat out more than I eat at home.

We use gift certificates from them all the time. Just got back from Vegas where we had a $50 gc from House of Blues and had no issues using it. We are going to Disney next June and are also planning on getting one for House of Blues.

The only problems I have had is when a restaurant no longer is participating in the program or they go out of business and you have to find out on your own and e-mail restaurant.com to get credit for the certificate. Thankfully at 1 restaurant that no longer was participating, they still accepted certificates purchased until they expired (now there is no expiration).

I used to use Restaurant.com a lot more until almost every place I used them at either closed or stopped accepting them. Others raised the prices up to $17.50 for a $25 GC and a $50 minimum purchase with certain days it can't be used, I know with 80% off it is still cheap but I miss the days of paying $2 for a $25 GC and having a $35 minimum purchase.

we used them at HoB and il mullino at the swolphin in oct - no problem, and i would definately use them again. our OOP totals came out to about $25 for HoB, and $40 for IM.
we also had an outback steakhouse one we did not use - it wound up not being part of the chain, was behind a resort across from SSR/DTD, and only open a few days a week (and not the day we were there). aside from changing the hours posted on the website, the menu had also changed, and held no interest for us.

i bought my sister a $25 gift certificate for restaurant.com. she used it at hob this past sept. with no problems. i use these to at my local restaurants. i dont pay full price to eat out anymore thanks to restaurant.com. wish i would have done this long ago.

DH and DD used one last week at the character meal place at the Swan (sorry, can't remember the restaurant name). It was no problem! That place is EXPENSIVE, though. They still spent $30 even with the $25 certificate.

I'm going to get one for Kimonos...I could spend $35 there by myself, so the $25 cert. will make it at least somewhat reasonable to have dinner there w/DH.

I bought two coupons for our recent trip to Florida. We ended up not using one of the certificates. It wasn't much of a loss however, since I bought them at 90% off. Last week I received an email from Restaurant.com informing me that I have a credit because one of those restaurants is no longer accepting the coupon. We use them all the time.

Love em, never had a problem. Just read the rules since there is a minimum that must be purchased usually doesn't include alcohol. Great deal!

It was included on the one for the Swan character meal, so maybe it's included on all of them. It would pay to be aware of this for sure.

We use them no problem in fact we will be using some next weekend as we will be out of town. I am hooked.

They work great! Each restaurant has their own rules. Some allow beverages to be inc. in the min. puchase. Some don't. This inc. non-alcoholic ones as well as more adult types. I believe HOB has no restrictions on beverages. If a min. tip is required it will be spelled out on the certificate. Can be 15%, 18%, or 20%. Only problem I had was this was on a trip to San Fran earlier this year I used on for a typical small, funky little fish place far from SF. It inc. a 18% min. tip which the place, and the service, didn't warrant. But that was the only time I had a problem with the tip amount. The min. purchase requirement is before tip.

I've used the ones at HOB at DTD in Disneyland several times. I've gotten really good at getting it to the min. of just over $35 (before tax and tip). With tax and tip the bill comes to around $45, $20 after using certificate. So basically you get a $45 for about $22 (inc. cost of ceritifcate) which is about 50% off (the percentage will be less if you spend more) so if it's a place you like to eat anyway or have been wanting to try, it's a good deal.

Is HOB any good? DH talked me out of getting the restaurant.com HOB GC because he said that the food was gross there the one time that he went.

I use them at least 2 times a month for the last 4 years. I've only had an issue twice, one time the restaurant had a policy of only over 18 yo admitted and the other restaurant had stopped accepting the certs. Both times I spoke to a customer service agent at R.com and they offered me an instant exchange. Their customer service is amazingly fast and good.

Read all the requirements. Some have date and time restrictions. I almost bought one for a lunch I'm hosting next week and even though the $25 was good for lunch, the $50 one said DINNER ONLY. These requirements can limit you so check them out before ordering.

We enjoyed House of Blues, but I don't think we'd return if we didn't have the restaurant.com certificate. Food was good...service was okay. We went for lunch, not sure what it's like at dinner time.
