Restaurant.com--too good to be true?

Another thumbs up for Rest.com. We use them locally and in a nearby vacation town. When in doubt; phone the restaurant first and ask if they're still taking that certificate (we do this every time; it's worth of couple minutes not to be embarrassed in public). Read the certificate carefully; many have minimum purchase requirements, as well as a weekday only stipulation. Most of them require the purchase of 2 adult entrees.

Always, always tip the server on the full amount, even if the cert doesn't specifiy.

I purchase mine through mypoints.com, when I receive 80% off email notifications. In fact, I just received one today.

I was perusing Restaurant.com and saw that there are plenty of restaurants listed that we want to visit on our upcoming vacation. With the 70% off coupon, we could get a $100 gift certificate for $12. That would be an amazing deal. My husband is wary because he thinks it is too good too be true. I used Restaurant.com maybe nine or more years ago and had one certificate turned down by the restaurant manager. So I never bought one again. But it would be wonderful to save so much $$ on vacation. Can anyone reassure me that restaurant.com is NOT too good to be true?

A few years back I bought a $100 for BB Kings (it was only $7). We had to spend atleast 200.00 and then a 20% tip was added. It was 4 adults and 2 children and we had no problem going over the limit. BB kings does allow alcohol to be added to the bill as well, many do not.
Some people make the mistake of looking at the stipulation for the lowest certificate amount because that is the one that the "bubble" is highlighted for. Make sure you click on the certificatie amount YOU want to buy to get the correct stipulations!!!
