I hope someone has experience with restaurant.com as I searched their website and couldn't find an answer to my question. In have 2 $25 gift certificates to a particular restaurant that I don't want to use. We had a bad meal there with our first certificate. I thought I read somewhere that I can exchange those certificates to another restaurant. Since I purchased the certificates at 80% off, I paid $2 each ($10 normally). So does the website give me $4 credit for the two certificates, or is it an even exchange with another $25 gift certificates? Right now they are 80% off again, but all good ones are sold off.

Hmmm... I would say they should give you another $25 gc, since that's the "value" of the gift cert. (even though we know it works more like a coupon). I'm curious if anyone has experience with this as well, as we may get stuck with some that I bought that might not get honored.

I can't answer your question, but I did have a problem once, and they were extremely nice and helpful. Give them a call.

"Gift certificate can be exchanged for restaurant.com gift certificate within 90 days of purchase date. No cash back on gift certificates".

That is printed on the certificate itself. Sounds like you get a certificate for the value of what you are exchanging. But please post when you find out for sure.

Yep, my DD just got 10-$25 gift cert. for $20!!!
We also are wanting to exchange one,(DD picked one that she changed her mind about) and the cert. says you can go online to exchange it but we can't find where. So I guess we'll call tomorrow and find out just how easy it is.

Usually their codes are full price at the first of the month and get cheaper as the month goes on. The 80% off happens the last few days of the month. Having said that, I believe the did have a sale early in the month last month - maybe 50% off. The risk you take if you wait for the end of the month is that the good ones will be gone. HTH.
