Restaurant.com certificate at HIFS

I won a $25 gift certificate for the Club Car restaurant in the Holiday Inn Family Suites for a whole $2 on eBay last week and decided to try it out this past Tuesay.

I did not stay at the HIFS so I thought the "kids eat free" perk would not apply to me but I was thrilled when the waitress pointed out that my son's food would be free anyway!

They were having a seafood buffet that night for $17.95. The regular buffet is about $14. I had a ball! I had to pay for taxes and gratuity so the whole deal ended up being about $4.00. Great deal!! I would HIGHLY recommend this to anyone who will be in that area for a great meal for next to nothing.

thanks for letting us know how this worked out! I had mentioned last week or so that I had also won a $25 GC for $2.00. Trying mine out next week!
We are staying onsite and will only have use of a car on our 1st night so we are going to try this then. I then plan to use the food $$ saved from our cheap meal to pay for our resort mugs since I forgot to budget for them but had budgeted about $40-50 for a dinner on that night! I am so happy.

I took advantage of the sloooow buying season on eBay during the holidays to jump on this one. The waitress seemed very accustomed to the certificate, seems she's seen many of them.

Today we plan to use a certificate we won for Atlanta! I won this $25 gc for $1!

Well I will tell you how I found them. It may be the long way but it's the only way I could seem to find them.

under catagories choose " everything else"
then choose gift certificates
then over on the left in the yellow area where it says type of cert. choose restauraunt
then i typed lake buena vista in the search box and it will give you the one for the club car or for baskervilles ( at downtown disney) if you want more choices ( i just wanted these 2 since they are the closest to disney) I would guess you could type in orlando. but I haven't tried that.

good luck! and also if at 1st you loose just try and try again. I lost for 3 -4 days in a row but every day they put up a new one. So don't think it is you only shot. Once an auction ends on the club car certif. they will just add another. takes the panic out! Some of the ones I lost went for up to $4.00 but I got mine the next day for $2.00.

I will check the dates. Maybe it will be good for my next trip...I just didn't want to drive there from WDW if the food was bad. Does anyone have good directions from WDW?

Wow that IS the long way, Lisa!

The short way, go to eBay, under search type in Buena Vista Club Car... there you go!

They start at $1.00. Your best bet is to try on OFF eBay days, in other words, days other than weekends and Thursdays. One comes up every day so keep trying.

How do I get mine? I snipe them! Sorry, guys but I can't sit around and wait!

Thanks for the replies. Must try this on our next trip. I'm trying to plan a trip for Nov or Dec but going to DL in Mar so may not be possible until 2005. We have been to WDW twice but I really want to see the Christmas decorations.

you can only use 1 GC in a 1 month time frame... so if you planned on getting more than one - don't!

No cash value for gift certificates.

Just a reminder that it's 1 g/c per month, per RESTAURANT. So, that doesn't stop you from using them elsewhere!

I have also used them at Myrtle Beach, and love them!

Robinrs... I keep looking for Atlanta ones, but I'm not familiar with the restaurants. Are there any good ones in the Duluth area?

I have never been on E-Bay. How do you receive these certificates? Does someone mail them to your home? How long does it take? We are going Jan. 31. Thanks

Jgates is right. Right after you pay they will link you to your certificate. I print it right away. It was a GREAT Christmas gift, too. I gave one for Atlanta to my son's teacher, his barber, my aunt and a San Francisco one for my neice. It's so nice to be able to give someone $25 worth of food for $1 to 3 dollars, the prices I paid!

I won a $25 Club Car gift certificate for $2.75. I also won a 50% off Food Portion of Bill gift certificate at Baskervilles in the Grosvenor for $2 on eBay. We will be using these on our upcoming trip in May. Are there particular days of the week that the Club Car has a buffet? I was glad to read that they were able to use these g/c with no trouble at all.

They have a Buffet every night, I believe on Fridays it is a Seafood Buffet.

I noticed that the Baskervilles one is for BEFORE 7pm only just for a heads up.

We use these all the time in my neck of the woods.

If your staying onsite is it easy to get to the Grosvenor?

Do they have an menu besides buffet?

I know you have to be seated before 7PM but can you be there

after 7PM and still use the coupon?

I just won a club car cert for $5 today. Im so excited that our family of 5 will be able to eat for $5 (actually $6 with the handling fee) one night. Even if the buffet isn't that great, Im sure we'll find at least one thing to fill us up!
Regarding the post about useing one cert/month. Can I use one and then my hubby use one a different night? And is that for a calendar month, or 30 days? Just curious if its worth bidding on another one.

harleyquinn... The Grosvenor is the hotel closest to the entrance at DD, so it is very easy to get to if you are staying on property!

fromCanada... I would suggest on buying them with 2 separate ebay id's & cc's if possible. Then, you shouldn't have a problem.
