We went to Orlando from 09/22 to 10/13 and ate a restaurants both on and off site. We stayed at the Boardwalk for two nights and had the DDP for that time. At the end of the stay we still had 2 CS credits left and we had saved about $60 in food with the credits we had used so excellent value for us. It would have been even better value if we had used those last 2 CS credits! Here is our review of the Disney ones:
MK
Crystal Palace - Lunch with Pooh and friends
1245 reservation, seated at 1315
Food was very good, good selection and hot
Service was good and brisk to get people in and out, we felt a little rushed
MGM
50's Sci-Fi Dine-In
1700 reservation, seated at 1700
Food was good but not brilliant. We both had the cheeseburger.
I ordered a vanilla shake, got a chocolate one and was charged for a Coke!
The service was very slow and the waiter totally disinterested
Great atmosphere and we really enjoyed the restaurant
Epcot
Le Cellier (DDP)
1350 reservation, seated at 1350
The food was excellent, we both had the Cheddar Cheese Soup and New Yord Strip steak. I ordered a Creme Brulee and they bought us a Chocolate Mousse to try.
The service was excellent, very friendly waitress.
We loved the setting and the atmosphere
San Angel Inn (DDP)
1815 reservation, seated at 1825
Food was very good. I had the Nachos to start with and Tim had the corn soup. For main we had the Plato Mexicano. The waiter misunderstood when I ordered the bread pudding and a coffee. He told me only one was covered on the DDP and I said I wanted the dessert DDP and the coffee OOP. He bought the coffee but no dessert. When I mentioned it he was very apologetic and although I told him not to worry about it, he bought me a bread pudding on the house!
Lovely setting and atmosphere.
San Angel Cantina (DDP and OOP)
We ate here a couple of times and found the food very good for CS.
We had the Plato Combinacion and ate our meal by the lake as the sun was going down. Very magical!
Wilderness Lodge
Roaring Forks
Very poor food. We both had the cheeseburger and fries and it was probably the worst food of the holiday. The food was lukewarm and tasteless.
Animal Kindgom Lodge
Boma
1700 reservation, seated at 1705
Fantastic staff, really made Tim's birthday special. The food was very good and loads of it.
Excellent service
We also grabbed food from the Backlot Express at MGM, various food stands at Animal Kingdom, Magic Kingdom and Epcot and found the delights called funnel cake!
We used a couple of snack credits at the Food and Wine Festival at Epcot and I thought the price of the food was expensive for the small portion they served.
We used the other snack credits at the Boardwalk Bakery on cookies and cakes.
Overall we thought the food at the Epcot restaurants was very good, MGM was just above average, Animal kingdom Lodge was excellent and the Wilderness Lodge was awful.
I have to say that we had much better meals off property and one of the best we had was at Dennys!
