We are staying at AKL from Dec. 7th until the 14th. I'm looking for a few "quieter" activities to do with my frail, elderly mother. She loves Christmas decorations and we will have our own car. Are there any resorts that are particularly outstanding in their Christmas decorations, particularly deluxe resorts (deluxe resorts have valet parking which with the wheel chair makes life much simpler)? Would appreciate any tips.

the grand floridian, it is amazing, not sure about the valet parking, but it is a must see.

I agree the GF is beautiful. The yacht and beach are too. The beach club had an amazing village with a train last year. My son watched it for hours.

Definitely the Grand Floridian. Valet parking available. You can then take the monorail around to the Contemporary and the Polynesian to see their decorations.

I'd also suggest the Boardwalk, also with valet parking. You can then go around the other Epcot resorts like the Beach Club and the Yacht Club.

We went last year to see the Xmas decorations and should park at one hotle and take the monorail around. We stayed at the poly and was great as well as all of the hotels. Need to see the boardwalk and Wilderness lodge too!! Enjoy!! :flower:

We have enjoyed touring the resorts during Christmas to see the decorations. AKL will be nicely decorated. Do not miss GF, WL, YC/BC, and Boardwalk. If you are limited on time, see GF and WL, also walk down to the DVC villas when you are at WL to see their decorations too. If you can plan it, do the Garden Afternoon Tea at GF when you go see their decorations. It is held in the afternoons starting at 2:00. They also have a pianist and a society orchestra that take turns playing in the afternoon. You are able to hear them if you go to the tea(they both play in the lobby). We buy the tea service that costs $18 and it includes tea, sandwiches, scones, and a dessert. You will need to call for an ADR if you want to do the tea. We took our Mother and she throroughly enjoyed it.

We stayed at the WL a couple of years ago just before Christmas. Amazing tree. We enjoyed the rustic feel.

I'll echo what has been said, the GF is a MUST do, I also liked WL. I would also suggest just riding the monorail to each of the monorail resorts.

The WL is a must!!! It is warm and cozy and such a great Christmas feel! Also, the GF, YC/BC, BW are nice. It is a great time to visit and get into the Holiday spirit! I also like the idea of tea at GF. The atmosphere is nice for that and your mother may enjoy it.

Have a wonderful trip!

The Boardwalk has an amusement park made out of chocolate. The Beach Club resort has a carousel made out of gingerbread and chocolate. Grand Floridan has there gingerbread house and beautiful christmas tree. We also saw the African village at AKL last year. All the resorts have really great decorations .
