Resorts with the best CS lunches?

We're on the dining plan and want to use our CS credits at lunch. I thought we might leave the parks and have lunch at some of the resorts, which would also allow us to see their Christmas decorations. Which ones do you think have the best food to offer?

A really good value for CS at a resort is the Pepper Market (CSR). They have steak, for example, that would be around $18.95. They have a good variety like Chinese, Mexican, Italian, soup and salad and the food is very good. IMO!!!

I really enjoy the food at Port Orleans - Riverside Mill Court. They've got a variety from hamburgers to chicken fingers, as well as Mexican-themed dishes, Pasta, Pizza, subs and even a Philly Cheesesteak sandwich. For the healthier eater, there are salads and other dishes available.
The only downside to eating at this particular place is it's a bit out of the way from most parks. However, if you're coming from downtown disney, it's only a boat-ride away.

Animal Kingdom Lodge's Mara was also nice. It doesn't have quite as a selection as the above, but it's only a quick bus-ride from AK and I can gurantee the decorations are beyond amazing at this resort.

These are my choices. I've never been to the Roaring Fork CS at Wilderness Lodge, but if you have a chance to see the decorations there, they are tied as my favorite (a very large tree going all the way up to the ceiling through the large lobby), Grand Floridian is the other -- with it's life-size gingerbread houses that actually have gingerbread inside for sale.

I think that the best counter service you will find will be at the moderate resorts where they have a food court. And any resort that you would be leaving to go to eat would be a deluxe. From my experience the cs you get at the deluxe is the same or worse than you will find at the park. I found that I got better choices at the parks for cs, especially AK. Loved Flame Tree, great chocolate cake!

I agree that your worst choices for counter service are the Deluxes. I think the Values have at least as good selections as the moderates, maybe better. This is kind of a bummer in terms of what you want to do, since the Deluxes have (by far) the best Christmas decorations.

I think you might as well just eat some of the great CS available in the parks, and then go to the Deluxes to see the decorations.

Another vote for Pepper Market at Coronado Springs. The food is good, plenty of it, lots of variety, and a big bang for your dining plan buck! You can get any non-alcoholic beverage with your meal, including the smoothies. Steaks and chicken are cooked to order, pizza, pasta, sandwiches, asian and southwest is all under the same roof. Limited dessert choices on the plan, but everything else is good for counter service. Enjoy!

Thanks. I just assumed the deluxe resorts would have better CS than either the parks or other resorts.

I disagree about the deluxes. We had very nice lunches at both GF and WL. And I love to escape to each of these from MK. I would definitely go back to either. However, we were there in September and took our lunches outside at each resort which made it extra nice. The dining areas inside for each are not "deluxe" at all.

not a big fan of food courts in general but we were pleasantly surprised at Pop's and unpleasantly surprised at pepper market...both had good selections( pop more american comfort type stuff) but pepper market was very congested at dinner( much worse than pop ever got when it was at capacity, the PM tables were so close together you had to move the chairs at other tables populated by strangers to get to your table) and since it has conventions, i don't know how it might be at lunch ( unlike the other more vacation oriented resorts that are pretty empty) those were the only ones we ate at but thought the food itself was good at both.
