I’m thinking of planning a trip to WDW later in the year. I used to stay deluxe in years past because they always included comfortable seating. However these resorts have priced me out. The times I’ve stayed moderate the only seating available were the stiff uncomfortable chairs around the small table. As a result my last several trips have been offsite in DS.

since it’s been a few years can anyone tell me if the arrangements have been upgraded in any of the moderate or value resorts? Not looking for anything luxurious just a comfortable chair to sit in during down time.

The new Gran Destino Tower at Coronado Springs has a great lounge on the bottom floor. We sat, ordered drinks, played some UNO.. It's a really cool spot. I love the new tower.

Most of the resorts have great lounge areas. I was referring more to a comfortable place to crash in your room without lying on the bed.

Ahhh. Then no, unfortunately. Your best bet may be Swan/Dolphin. Chairs in the rooms and often times the prices are usually more comparable to the Moderates while being walking distance to the Boardwalk, boat ride to the parks, etc.

Have you looked at the family suite options at the value resorts? They have a sleeper sofa in the ”living room”.

You won't find lounge seating at the Swan/Dolphin in the standard Double or Queen rooms, there is a bit more in a King room, but you'd need to get an alcove or better room.

What about the Cabin at Fort Wilderness?

There is one soft chair in the rooms at the Swan and Dolphin. Just one. Ours usually holds laundry or coats.

My room at Gran Destino at CSR had a comfortable chair. I don't remember if my CSR Cabana room had a comfortable chair but I think it did. CSR doesn't have the usual moderate set up of a table and 2 small hard back chairs.

No chair at POR, POFQ for sure.

Someone suggested the Cabins at Ft. Wilderness. They have a sofa and a very comfortable chair but it's approaching the price of the lower deluxe resorts.

Thanks all. I’ve stayed at the Swan a few times so that is an option. I’ll also check out the Gran Destino. It will be a solo trip so the suite and cabins might not be cost effective.

The DVC studios generally have a bed and a sofabed, so you could sit on the sofa without the bed pulled out. The price is usually comparable to a room in the same resort. If you have people who would have to sleep on the sofabed and wouldn't want to, this won't help you. This is deluxe price, but just wanted to mention it in case you find a good discount. (BCV studio versus room in Beach Club, BWV studio versus room in BoardWalk Inn, etc.)

Our standard room (not in the tower) at CSR had a comfy armchair!

Nope. I've not really found any that I'd call comfortable.
The closest/best is the Deluxe Rooms at GDT or the Cottage at BWI

Kind of what I thought. It’s been a few years but I was hoping things might change. I’ve been staying offsite but would rather be onsite. Getting older and need a place to recover and recharge. It amazes me that virtually every hotel chain includes a chair except for Disney. Small problem in the scope of world issues but at the prices they now charge it doesn’t seem like an unreasonable expectation

Oh, there are chairs, with the table.
Just not comfy chairs.

The AKV, BLT and OKW one bedroom and larger with the twin sized sleeper chair is pretty comfortable for sitting.

I found the chair in our room at the GDT to be quite comfortable!
