Resorts with ample shade by the pool

Hi all! I'm planning a July trip next summer and will be staying primarily at our resort. I look forward to lots of pool time, but need shade. Are there a few Disney resorts pools that you could recommend?

AKL Jambo (have not been to the Kidani pool) and Stormalong Bay at the Yacht and Beach Club both offer plenty of shade.

I would second Jambo House. There are a lot of shady areas around the back row of loungers.

Riviera has many umbrellas at the adult/ quieter pool. Bay Lake Tower also tends to be shadier.

The DVC villas on the fifth floor are open.

If you are talking umbrella shade, then all resorts will have some tables with umbrellas. But if you're talking natural shade then AKL Jambo has pretty good shade areas and both PO resorts have a lot of trees for shade. We found Stormalong Bay only having shade when the sun is going down, definitely not during the middle of the day. POLY and GF do not really have much if any tree shade by their pools

We thought the area in front of the Yachtsman had nice tree shade, but it has been a couple of years since we stayed there. Perhaps this is the area where the cabanas are located now.

There's a nice area towards YC side that has a big tree with a good amount of shade all day. That was our spot every time we swam last year.

Kidani has a good amount of tree shade on one side of the pool, and near the splah pad.

We were always on the BC side so you are probably correct. Do you have to get there early to get a spot?
