Resorts, Relatives & Restaurants - and a 3 day cruise!

Holy crap~ I was 10 pages behind!! You've been busy, and I've been consumed by doing cruise research. I'm trying to get super-pumped up for that so I'm not so depressed about not having a Disney trip planned! It's already been year since we've been there!

Loving the report, the castle pix are just amazing! Would love to try AKL someday, that's our dream resort!!

Here's our photopass pic from MVMCP night

What pretty girls! This is a great picture. :goodvibes

Hi Sheree! I'm so far behind on your trip report but am getting caught up. Now on page 8. Just have to stop and comment.
You and the girls are adorable!
The Swan looks amazing and I love the looks of those beds!
Thanks for the tour of the resorts! We did get to step through "my" beach club briefly this Christmas but aren't staying there again until summer...
So fun that you had a night at AKL!
Going back to read.....
How do you keep track of all your trips??? LOL AKL was SO cool!! I want to go back!
Bustin the bath bomb!:thumbsup2
Glad you aren't still looking for the car....:goodvibes
My kids don't need that much of the bath bomb!! Those things are huge! Smashing it works great! I could never lose my Pearl!! I LOVE that car!
Very crafty girls! Nice job girls! The lodge looked very festive didn't it? We sure thought so! You guys got so much done!
Going back to read page 11.
Oh, my girls LOVE to do crafts! The lodge was really more festive than I thought it would be. But it was beautiful!
Wow I agree, the studio at BLT does look a little lacking for space, I noticed how close the love seat is to the bed. You did however luck out on your view. We can only hope to get so lucky in July. Still waiting on on those two dates as well....
The Christmas party looked like a blast as well, your parade pictures were awesome!
I think I'm almost caught up!
It was a bit cozy for the four of us and all the "stuff"! That view was a nice bonus! Hope you get your dates! Christmas time at WDW was a lot of fun!
Try to keep up! I haven't put an update up for a while, so you should be good for now. Hopefully another update tomorrow. I'm too tired tonight!
Sorry about all the posts, I am caught up....I'll try to keep up now!
Come on, you can do it!!! Of course, you're so busy planning all of your trips, I'm just glad you have some time to come here and visit me!!!

Loved the PP picture!! Adorable! So glad you enjoyed the party. The fireworks really are fantastic. When they go off all around the park it is just amazing. I'm betting there is no rope drop for you the next day. We wouldn't have made it, that's for sure.

Thanks!! I just fell in love with the castle all lit up like that and the fireworks - oh boy!!

What a sweet PP pic!!! I love it!! Can't wait to hear more!
Thank you! The girls were so excited to do a lot on this trip. That's one of my favorite pics. There were a lot of good ones!

What an adorable pic from MVMCP! :goodvibes

Thanks! That castle is just so beautiful, and with my two beauties - it was just perfect!

Glad you're back. I hope you have fun with the cruise - when we did our Carnival cruise, we just "had" to tack on a day in Orlando to go to WDW. Of course, the flights to MCO were cheaper than to Miami so we just spent 4x that much to go to WDW! LOL!!

The castle just makes me so happy to see with the lights! AKL is really cool on so many levels. I will definitely try to go back there someday for longer. But I want to try so many other places too!!!

What pretty girls! This is a great picture. :goodvibes

I appreciate the compliment! They are just really sweet girls and when I get good smiling pictures, I see how much they enjoy the trips that I enjoy so much too!!! These are the memories!

Monday 12/7

Did we make rope drop?? Uh, not so much! We got up at 7:45. We found SILs and MIL at the Contempo Cafe having breakfast. We didn't want to wait around - I had to get to Toy Story Midway Mania!!! Breakfast could wait!
So we got to the bus stop and waited no more than 5 minutes for the DHS bus. According to this picture, we were at the park a little before 10. (park opened at 9). We've never been to RD at DHS - still haven't!!

DSCN1027.jpg

Poor Sarah! So many pictures we took looking directly at the sun!

Image0006.jpg

Image0009.jpg

Of course we headed straight to TSMM! The standby line showed a wait of 40 minutes at 10:05. We hopped in line and started timing it. I knew I had to have an accurate report so you all would know how long the wait REALLY was!! I didn't take too many pictures in the queue.

DSCN1029.jpg

Doesn't everyone take a picture with this guy???

DSCN1030.jpg

We're getting closer!!
DSCN1031.jpg

DSCN1032.jpg

Our actual wait time: 25 minutes!!! Not too bad!
I only noted my score - a lame 76600. Paige and Dave had never been before. Last January, Paige was scared to go on it (can you believe it?) so Dave and she waited somewhere while Sarah and I went on it. This time she wasn't scared, just uncertain, and had a blast! She said it was fun to play the games, but the ride was a little jerky. I'd have to agree with her. It does whip you around on the turns!
We grabbed fastpasses either for later or for the in-laws.
At about 11:15 we decided food was necessary. I found Starring Rolls and got 2 chocolate croissants. We used snack credits for those.

We decided to catch Voyage of the Little Mermaid since it was closed when we were here in January. As usual, Paige was nervous because it was dark. But she enjoyed it anyway! Especially the bubbles! There was one little kid who started WAILING!! They got him out of there pretty quickly.

We managed to head over to see Beauty and the Beast in time to catch the 11:30 show. I'm not sure which we did first, VOTLM or B&TB.

Image0011.jpg

Image0013.jpg

But I was texting Shawna because I knew she was at DHS that morning too. So after Belle fell in love with the Beast, we walked down the street and found these folks:

The group was supposed to be the glee club or something and the director was trying to decide which Christmas carol to sing. half wanted Joy to the World and the other half wanted Rudolph (I think). Dave says it was a different song. ANYWAY, they compromised and sang the other song(ahem, Rudolph), to the tune of Joy to the World!!! It was really cool!

We decided to hit the backlot tour (it also was closed in January).

DSCN1039.jpg

I love the story of this plane being used to scope out property and fly to Orlando when WDW was just starting.

After the backlot tour, we heard that the other group of our party was going to the Lights, Motor Action show. It started in about 10 minutes!!! Paige didn't want to go - too noisy, but we got out her earplugs and dragged her over there as fast as we could. I was sure we'd never make it. Well, since we had one in a scooter and one in a wheelchair, we were able to sit in handicapped seats with them. (This would prove helpful at other times on this trip as well). The only problem was we had to walk to the FAR end of the grandstand to get to the ramp. I was so out of breath, I needed a drink by the time we got there. But our seats were great!! Just left of center and FRONT ROW!!
It appears I didn't take any pictures during the show. But you all trust me right? It was great! Very noisy, but lots of fun!

After that, we wandered a bit. I wanted to shop some, so DH took the girls to get some food at Rosie's All American Cafe. They got a couple of kids meals using counter service credits. I went looking for the CDs I wanted, and ended up buying my brother a t-shirt for Christmas. The one that says "I'm Grumpy because you're Dopey". It is perfect for him. He gets so grouchy when people are stupid. He loved the shirt.

So Shawna and I were texting when I met back up with DH and the girls. Turns out we were close by!! Do I find her? Do I take pictures?? Oh, the parade is going to start soon!! We need to hop on out of here!!

At some point, apparently around 2:15, (before we got food) we walked through Pixar Place again. Here's the crowd.
DSCN1040.jpg
DSCN1041.jpg

I heard from Shawna that the boys were getting turkey legs, and they were going to look at pins while her DH watched the streetmosphere folks. So we walked toward the pin shop.

We were planning to leave after this to show the Epcot resorts decorations to the in-laws. We had dinner ADR at Teppan Edo. THIS is why we get hoppers. We were eating in Epcot a lot. I had tried to do SciFi, if you remember from way back in the beginning, but was overruled as Teppan would be a better use of TS credit.
Anyway, we walked up to our pals at the pin shop! This family is just the sweetest!! Shawna's older son had just had his b-day and was showing us the new camera he got. Her DD (who is a doll!) was talking pins. They were staying at DHS, so we visited for a bit, made plans to try to meet again! and separated.

Oh, and YES!!! we did get a picture this time!!

DSCN1044.jpg

Shawna's DD and mine really hit it off, chatting like they'd known each other for years!! Her boys are super sweet, polite and really can hold a conversation with adults. We were so lucky to meet them (both here on the DIS and in person!). I hope all of you get a chance to do so too!

After we parted ways, we had to plow through the parade crowds. It had just started, and we were weaving along the sidewalk behind the crowd. But the scooter and wheelchair could not pass easily, and had to use the curb cut out ramps. SO I, being the pushy one, went ahead and started tapping people saying, "excuse me, we have a couple wheelchairs coming and they need to use the ramps." I was polite, and everyone was cooperative. Of course, none of this would have been necessary if I wasn't so chatty with Shawna! We would have left before the parade!!!
Oh well! We made it and took a couple more photos before leaving.

And then we all piled on the boat and took a leisurely ride over to see the decorations at the Beach Club before heading to Epcot for dinner!
Yes, I have more pictures from the Beach Club, but I promise, I won't post the same ones again!

I guess these would have fit in the last post.
Just a couple from BC. As you can see, the weather was so much better this day! It was beautiful, sunny and warm! I love how you can walk across a bridge from BC and be at the International Gateway to the World Showcase at Epcot (which is my favorite part!)

This is at the back entrance to BC (facing the lake). The girls and their Auntie Donna!
DSCN1051.jpg

DSCN1052.jpg

DSCN1053.jpg

Donna wanted to do this kind of decoration on the light post at her house!

And after showing them the great gingerbread stuff inside, we were off to Epcot!!! Of course, we walked in at the UK pavillion and had to shop! We were also waiting to meet up with Steve and Debbie who had not been with us at DHS, instead staying at their camper tending to their dogs. They were coming to dinner with us. So while we waited, we shopped.
I was able to find the 4 parks CD in the Crown and Crest store.

Aren't they cute!!

Once we met up with Steve and Debbie, we started toward Japan. But we didn't get far when we found some folks we'd never met before and were very excited to see!!!

DSCN1057.jpg

Alice was telling Sarah her ears hung upside down! I think Sarah was confused (she's not well versed in the Alice story!)

DSCN1058.jpg

Then right before crossing the bridge to France, our favorite nanny was waiting for us!
DSCN1059.jpg

DSCN1061.jpg

There aren't a lot of characters I want to have my picture with, especially by myself, but Mary was one of them!! I love her! She told the girls, "spit spot, stand up straight" for the picture!! Then she asked me how I fit everything in such a small carpet bag! I told her that my DH had the bigger one. He was carrying the backpack then. I should have said, well, it's magical just like yours! There's a lamp in here!

Then we headed over the bridge and found a cute French kitty!! We'd never seen her before either, so we went right over. For all of these characters, we didn't wait for more than 3 or 4 other people in line!

Next up: Dinner at Teppan Edo.

Cute Photopass pictures of your girls!!!

Only a 25 minute wait at Toy Story Mania??? I am shocked! In a good way, of course! :goodvibes

The "carolers" look like a hoot!!! I can only imagine how funny they were all being!

Yeay for a DIS meet!!!

Was this your first time eating at Teppan Edo?

Thanks!! I like the back to back one. Of course, they don't ride ToT, so it was sort of funny to have that in the background! But I was trying to get as many PP pics as I could!

I thought TSMM was not too bad of a 25 minute wait. The queue is so cute and it keeps everyone occupied looking around at the toys.

That was the third DIS meet I have had with Shawna since I first met her on the Jan 2009 snowbirds thread!

This was our first time eating at Teppan Edo. We had never even eaten at a Japanese steak house near home (even though there are plenty around!)

The picture of the girls in front of ToT is adorable!!! That's definately a frame one!!

Yay for a DIS meet!! It's always fun to meet up with DISers!! :goodvibes Oh wow--ya'll got to meet quite a few characters in the WS!! I'm wanting the 4 Parks, One World cd--do you like it?! Thanks for letting us know where you were able to find it!!

:yay: Yay for a Snowbird meet! :yay:

Wow, you and Mary Poppins could be sisters! Great picture!

How nice to keep meeting up with Shawna!

I bet you were in for a big treat at Teppan Edo -- it's one of our favorite restaurants on property!

Love the photos... I have never seen Marie (the kitty) before at the parks... DD just loves her... can't wait to here what you thought about Teppan Edo... I ate there in October

Great update Sheree! :goodvibes

I just love DHS! Looks like it was a beautiful day and like you got a lot done. And YAY for a Snowbird Meet ~ I'm so glad you and Shawna got to meet up! :cool1:

Great updates! I love all the pics. I can't wait to hear all about Teppan Edo. We are eating there in May and I haven't really read too many TR reviews about it!

All your PP pics are great! It looked like a beautiful day! Such a deep blue sky. Can't wait to hear about Teppan Edo. We've never been there but it gets very good reviews. Hooray for short character lines! I expect to wait for rides, but it is kind of annoying to wait a long time for characters.

Ok, we were in DHS on the exact same day!! :) I have to admit for searching your pictures carefully for a glimpse of someone in my family. No go though. That would have been a hoot! I'm glad your TSM wait wasn't longand that you all got to ride it together. I really like the Alice pictures. She's one of my favorites.
