Anyone have any recommendations for a beach resort close to Disney (within and hour and a half)? What is the nicest beach on the east coast there?

Daytona Beach is a great beach with a lot of fun things to do and is only about an hour away from the parks. We live here in Daytona and have a season pass to Seaworld and it takes just over an hour to get there.
Prices depand on the time of year because of event in Daytona like Bike week and Race week which is Feb and Mid March. I know of a single family home you can rent for $600 and week near the beach. There are plenty of hotels, but be sure to stay at one on the beach on A1A/Atlantic Ave. The hotels on the West side of the street are cheap and scummy. Try a websites like VACTIONPLACESTOSTAY Have a great time in FL!

The beaches on the east coast are easily reached from Orlando, however the west coast beaches are much nicer.

I would choose Clearwater or St.Petes over Daytona & Cocoa.

Further to travel but well worth it.

We stayed at Daytona a few years ago after visiting Disney for a couple of days and I thought the beach was beautiful. We got a great deal at the Adams Mark hotel on priceline. I was a little skeptical of Daytona (I had heard too many spring break stories), but we found it to be great for families to visit. I would definately go again, but not this trip, since we are going to Disney over March 12-17 when many colleges and universities are on spring break. I'm too old for college spring break and my kids are too young!
