The last time we went to Disney there were 4 of us (1999) and now there are 5. I find that most resorts have a max. occupancy of 4 which seems odd. Not every family has 2.5 children! Can anyone help me with which resorts, moderate or delux can allow for 5 people even if someone gets a cot? Do you have to nessesarily have to go with a delux when there are 5? Any input would be greatly appreciated. Last time we stayed at CBR.

We just returned from POR (moderate resort) and the Alligator Bayou section sleeps 5. Two regular beds and a trundle bed. We have also stayed at the Ft. Wilderness cabins (Home-away-from-home) where you can actually sleep 6. A double bed and bunk beds in the bedroom and a double size murphy bed in the living room.

Hope this helps some. Anyone else?

I believe YC has some rooms with a daybed. The daybed is not fully size, but would be adequate for a young (small) child. I think it is about 60" long. They also might be available at BC and BWI, but I don't recall reading any posts to that effect.

Of course, my brain retains a lot of information; it just doesn't always release it when I want it! :)

We stayed at the POR Alligator Bayou last year and are going back in early Sept. For us it was a choice of 2 value rooms or one nicer moderate at the POR. This works best for a family with younger kids (versus larger teens). They do state that the 5 person in the room should include a child under 10 for the trundle bed. Hope this helps. Depending on you budget, this is less expensive than other options.

Will your youngest be under 3 at the time of the trip? If so, all resorts will work.

If not, all the deluxes except WL and AKL have rooms that sleep 5. AKL has deluxe rooms for 5, WL has junior suites or deluxe rooms (or whatever the current term is) that sleep six. You could also rent points for a 2BR at the Disney Vacation Club Resorts...or book that through Disney but for more money.

The Contemporary and Polynesian have the largest rooms and are great for families of 5...we have 3 children , too.:D. The daybeds in those two resorts are twin size beds. We've had a daybeds at BC that seemed smaller athough others report them to be twin size. Maybe BC/YC have two different sizes??? Anyway, NOT all rooms at BC/YC have daybeds so make sure they know you have 5...but that shouldn't be a problem because they'll ask you about your party when you make your reservation.

Fort Wilderness will work, too as Deweygirl noted and is a more affordable way to have two rooms....BR and living room. Fun, too.

Edited to add a very important word...NOT all rooms at BC/YC have daybeds!

We are also a family of 5. You didnt state the ages of the children or when you plan on going, value season, peak season etc. That would also affect your budget. I priced out 2 rooms at a value versus the swan and dolphin which we got a discount on. You might want to look into that also. Our 3 ds loved the swan. The rollaway is extra there or you can bring your own air mattress. We have also gone during value season at the deluxes and only requested the cheapest room, example polynesian garden view or contemporary wing room. Good luck.

Port Orleans Riverside is the cheapest option -- two double beds and a trundle. You pay $15 per night extra for the fifth person.

All the deluxe resorts except Animal Kingdom and Wilderness lodges sleep five in a standard room. You have to get a deluxe room ($$$) at those two resorts. Rooms at the other deluxes have two queen beds and a daybed. Except for possibly the Boardwalk Inn, which does have small daybeds, the daybeds are way bigger than 60 inches -- my teen boys practically fight over who gets it. It's the trundle beds that are five feet long.

Wilderness Cabins sleep 6 -- a double bed and bunkbeds in the bedroom and a Murphy bed in the living room. The full kitchen is also nice. Transportation around Disney, however, is not nearly as convenient and the pools are not themed.

There are many options out there if your open to different things.

The CR garden is slightly more than the moderates but accomadates 5 easily. As do Some of the other deluxes if you can swing into one of the discounts, offered?

Moderates: The PO-RS is probably the only "5" available cause of the trundle bed?

Value: How about 2 rooms? Virtually the cost of a moderate (with some of the discounts) and you then have 2 bathrooms? Just get them ajoining.

Good luck, MKY princess:
