Resort with not alot of ducks or birds

Ducks at the Polynesian. My children thinks that they are cute and my son asked me to take pix of them.

Be careful... they swim in the pool too, so watch out for their poop on the bottom of the pool. They were in the quiet pool.

I too have the same problem. I understand how frustrating this can be, especially on vacation when you just want to have fun. The bird issue is the one main reason I won't stay at the Boardwalk Inn. When you go to the boardwalk for something to eat there are signs saying that the birds can be aggressive. Not for a relaxing morning or afternoon. Good luck.

I heard someone mention AKL as a good place to avoid birds. I'm not sure about that, though. When I stayed there, we had some really good views of some really big birds. I don't know how bad your phobia is, but I have a friend with the same problem, and having ostriches and other large exotic birds outside her balcony would freak her out more than ducks and other small birds.
On the other hand, I think that they're a little more careful at AKL to keep people from feeding the local wildlife in order to protect the imports, so aggressive birds may be more rare. When we ate our breakfast out on our balcony, we weren't bothered at all by scavengers. Of course, we took great care to clean up after ourselves.

Unfortunately, as long as people think it's cute to throw popcorn and fries to birds and ducks, they'll be wherever there are people eating, and that is pretty much all over Disney... I get so aggravated seeing people feed them that garbage, but also, if someone gets bit by a squirrel or some other critter, Disney will be blamed, not the people who thought it would be *cute*

Saw a lady yesterday at MK outside of Caseys feeding a TON of birds. Several children with her, sitting RIGHT in front of the sign that said "please do not feed the birds" laughing and throwing fries to them. Most people around her or trying to walk past the 20 or so birds were not amused:)

I was going to say CBR until I read further and seen you stayed there..lol

When we were ther a couple of weeks back we hardly seen any birds at CBR......now lizards that is another story!!!!!!!

Ha ha ha... I am not afraid of the birds/ducks... but am afraid of the lizards! Yes, they are tiny... but don't like them! I saw plenty at CBR too! And I thought I had stepped on one. He didn't want to move and he was in the way to get to our door, he wasn't scared... I was! There's also plenty of lizards at POFQ, I had to stay away near the trees or bushes, always stay on the ground pavement. Of course lizards are everywhere in Florida... oh well.

I think the all stars would be a safe choice, but I think the birds in the park are more of a problem than the ones at the resort.
I LOVE birds, especially my baby ,Hope a spoiled cuddly cockatoo that loves hugs, pizza and playing catch:),,,,,you can find a bird like her in AK,,, but even I get nervous with those guys that fly at you, have a couple of close calls with ducks myself.

The ones we seen moved pretty fast, but sometimes they moved right under our stroller. I was fine with them until 1 jumped at me...lol. I was trying to take a pictire of it on a branch and next thing I know it's flying past me. They were fun to chase but man those things are fast.

Walt Disney World announced today that it is removing all of its fish- and animal-food vending machines at the recommendation of a special task force and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission. One reason cited is that feeding wildlife this way encourages it to become too friendly, which can lead to injuries. In addition to removing the vending machines, many outdoor food locations around WDW will soon distribute napkins with messages that discourage feeding wildlife. Cast Members will also emphasize to visitors that feeding animals "human" food, or food meant for other types of animals, is unhealthy for them, and is discouraged.

When we got off the boat at WL I was surprised that they had feeding machines because of that very reason. Here in Ontario they are discouraging people from feeding the Canada Geese as they are now staying around all year round. If it is a cool winter a lot of them die. Te sea gull have become vicious be cause of people feeding them.

i did not see a single bird/duck/fowl at POFQ at all...

To the OP *** warning **** you may not want to read my post but I wouldn't recommed POFQ

For the rest of you, here's why

I have to disagree - sorry.... if you go during nesting season, the birds there get very aggressive. I was dive bombed all the way from the boat dock past the pool, and one actually hit me.

Great news. Last year at the BW, we tried three times to enjoy breakfast outside of the bakery. In a matter of minutes, birds were swooping down on us. We won't stay there again. In addition to being annoying, it's so dirty!
