Hi I usually judge my hotel by the pool. The nicer the pool thats usually the spot for me. Would love to hear some of you vets suggestions on this. Particularly, which resorts' pool has the nicest/most waterfalls? Themeing is also good. I can tell somewhat by the websites but I know I would get more insight here. For example the resort with the Mayan temple looks good, but not sure. Also how is the pool to overall resort quality ratio. Example, best pool but not the greatests rooms/restaurants etc. Remember key to this is which has the best waterfalls????? Thanks.

The Beach/Yacht Club!!!!!! We love both resort, though prefer the BC. The rooms, service, location and POOL are all amazing.

The pool with the most options is by far Stormalong Bay at the Yacht and Beach Club. Its like a mini water park. However it can get very crowded. Large water slide, lazy river sandy bottom, waterfalls, excellent. The AKL has the largest pool and tends not to be that crowded. That would be my second choice. Slide is small like the other hotels. My wife and I prefer the quiet pools around the resorts. Small crowds, very few kids and quiet.

My vote is for Stormalong Bay at the Beach Club.

Stormalong Bay wins for me. It has the most entertaining pool. I recall a small waterfall. What made the biggest impression on me is the themed slide, the lazy river, and the sandy bottom. For the younger set, the kiddie area is outstanding. The kids can build sand castles and have the largest kiddie area I've seen so far. I also love the resort. The Beach Club room theme appeals to me most, but I've stayed at the Yacht Club and the rooms are great there also. Of course, I have to mention that you can walk to Epcot (or take a boat) and can take a boat to MGM. It's just so convenient too.

Stormalong Bay always gets mentioned here (and elsewhere) as being the best pool, but people have reported that it closes at 8 PM at night, even in summer. So if you plan on being in the parks during the day and doing your pool time at night, it might not be the best choice.

The WL has a very nice pool, but it is smaller than the other deluxes. We were there the last week of August and it was never crowded. It doesn't have a waterfall to speak of in the pool itself. You can, however, swim 24/7, weather permitting, except when the pool is undergoing regular maintenance.

I gotta go with the majority on this and say Stormalong Bay is the best hotel pool at WDW.

Didn't care too much for the pool at AKL -- I know it is supposed to look murky and natural, but it just gives the impression the water is not clean.

Storm Along Bay was our favorite. Our DD had more fun there. It does get very crowded after 2:00 p.m. tho so be prepared.

Will be going to the GF in December -- don't know that we will swim, but we will check out the pool. :beach:

Storm Along Bay is #1 in our book, staying at the Grand Floridian in a few weeks (9/16-9/23) hope their pool is better than it was when we stayed there last time :)

Thanks all, so what i've heard at the AKL's not that great (pool), i was thinking they had a waterfall at that pool but that may be another water feature at the lodge and not in the pool.

SAB is the best pool on property (amongst the deluxes). The Grotto Pool at the Dolphin is probably the second best (nice waterfall feature, and very large). The best pool at a moderate is at Coronado Springs Resort.

When we were there in July SAB didn't close until 10:00. The quiet pool was open 24/7.

Yes, I went back and looked at the Dolphin and the others again on the websites, I saw some pics I didn't see before of the Dolphin pool, very very nice. I didn't see before that it had a big waterfall/grotto, that's the ticket!

Our family votes are:

#1, Storm Along Bay at the BC/YC tied with the Grotto Pool at Swan/Dolphin.

Although the Grotto gets #1 from me for two reasons. The kids don't have to leave the pool area to access the slide and I can always get a lounge chair!!

#2, Polynesian Volcano pool, my dd's love the slide and the kids activities so this is a very close second

#3 and ITA that the best Moderate pool is CSR, great themeing and a fun slide.
