Hello I am new here. I have been enjoying the forums for months. I have learned a great deal and been vastly entertained, thank you all.:disrocks:
I would like to ask which resort is the best choice for someone who has difficulty walking. Don't consider the level of resort, just which one would have the least amount of walking to buses and food. Thank you.:thanks:

I'm no expert but it seems to me like everyone recommends POFQ for its smaller size.:thumbsup2

WL/VWL is pretty compact.

Tower rooms in the Contemporary are probably best of all (garden wings aren't too much walking, but tower is definitely better).

POFQ is the most compact of the moderates

YC/BC, and BWI/BWV aren't bad. For that matter, neither are GF and Poly.

The FW cabins would be Ok, as long as you rented a golf cart.

I'd stay away from OKW, SSR, and CBR. Very large and spread out, potentially long walks for food.

Whichever resort you stay at, request that you'd like to be in a location that minimizes walking, for medical reasons. When you check in, the CM will show you where your room is located. You can discuss any concerns, and they may be able to adjust your room location to keep walking to a minimum.

I agree with the CR probably being the least amount of horizontal walking among all the resorts. I would add that Wilderness Lodge is probably a close second, if you can get a room close to the lobby. The elevators in WL are also about the fastest I've ever seen in a hotel. Most of the moderate and value resorts are more spread out than the deluxes, generally speaking.

I also vote for the CR, tower room if you can swing it. Plus its a short walk from the lobby to the bus area for parks not on the monorail line.

Pop also has a small amount of walking to reach everything.

However - we just stayed at Pop. I have walking and balance difficulties. The number of times I was slammed into while attempting to get a drink, standing in a food line, or just walking through the resort were ridiculous. I will never understand why others feel the need to knock someone else over in order to get what they need.

We ate several meals at CBR because the pushing, shoving, and slamming were non-existent there.

Depends which building you end up in. We were in bld7 and it's atleast a 5-7min walk to everything.

Pop also has a small amount of walking to reach everything.

I don't agree with this one. The POP is HUGE!!!!!!! You could be stuck out in timbucktoo and either need to use your car or walk quite a distance to everything. Now you could always pay for a preferred room location which would be closer if a value is your choice.

Personally, for someone with a walking issue, I'd pick the Wilderness Lodge. It's the most compact of any of the resorts. Many of the rooms are close walks to nearly everything.

CR tower would also be a great location for minimal walking. However, the price could possibly be a deterent.

If you choose a deluxe resort - when you make your ressie ask for a room location close to the lobby. This should minimize the walking.

yea but on a budget - Pop and POFQ are the best!

Pop is no bigger than most of the WDW resorts - Polyn, bc/yc, gf, akl, cbr, por, csr. but that make problems - too many people in too small an area.

so sorry your visit was as nice as you wanted it to be.

Pop definitely attracts a younger crowd. It is a value resort.

POFQ is the smallest of the moderate.

WL is one building (so is AKL but it is more spreadout). everything is there.

CR is 2 building - but everything is in the tower - so if you can afford it this is probably your best option.

if you can't then POFQ or Pop are fine.
