We recently returned, stayed at Music but we had dinner reservations at different resorts. We drove and had the parking paper on the dashborad of our car. Every time we stopped at the security gate of another resort, I explained why we were there.

When you visit other resorts just to check them out, do you have to have a good reason other than, "I want to see your lobby & gift shop, check out the grounds and buildings?" I almost expected them to ask for my reservation number, but then again, I may just be paranoid.

No, we don't pool hop or bring mugs to fill up anywhere else.

Since we live 10 minutes away from WDW we frequently go to the resorts for dinner. Sometimes we have reservations, and sometimes we don't. All we are required to show at the gate is our Drivers License. During really busy seasons however, you do need a reservation to get into certain resorts such as the Contemporary. They have problems with people parking at the resort and then going over to the Magic Kingdom or Epcot. On normal seasons however, it's not a concern.

No good reason needed to visit other resorts.

We like visiting other resorts especially if we have dinner ressies. However, we usually just hop a bus or monorail to do it. It saves on gas and having to find a place to park.

During our last trip we checked out a couple of resorts to see if they might be future destinations. AKL was very impressive, Contemporary less so(Maybe when consturuction is finished) No problems going to any of the resorts.

We always check out other resorts. It is fun to see wha they are like. We even go if we aren't eating there. Have fun

I would think Disney encourages visiting other resorts, in particular the deluxe resorts so you would be tempted to stay there on your next visit. The only time I had a problem visiting a resort (when I was staying at a Disney resort) was at the Boardwalk where the guard told me they had to reserve parking space for those staying at the resort. Apparently there were too many other visitors at that time.
