Hi everyone! I have a few quick questions.

We are staying at CBR in 8 days. Some of the breakfast ADRs I made are for other resorts way before parks open. Here is an example:

Sunday, Jan 21st, 7am Chef Mickey's breakfast

That day we plan to go to Epcot from the CR, but since MK and Epcot both don't open until 9am, would we have to take a taxi to breakfast? About how much do you think a taxi from the CBR to the CR would cost?

Also, do I remember correctly that if we have an 8:05 breakfast at Crystal Palace, we can still take the bus to MK before our ADR's?

:confused3

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help! :thumbsup2

For any breakfast ADRs at the MK resorts (CR, Polynesian, GF) just take the MK bus from your resort. Then, for CR (Chef Mickeys) you can just walk over via the pathway from MK. It's about an 8 min walk, underneath the monorail track. Or you can take the monorail, but be sure you use the 'resort' monorail. This monorail will also take you to the other MK resorts, stopping at CR, TTC, Polynesian, GF and back to MK.
There are very early buses running to the MK just for the express purpose of those very early ADRs....they may start as early as 6, but I'm not absolutely sure. Same thing if you have an ADR inside the park before official park opening. There will be a line, over to one side, that is just for those with ADRs. They should have a list of those people with ADRs before park opening. Just check in with them, and then into the park. Early morning ADRs at MK are my favorite thing to do. It's a great chance for some terrific photos without the usual crowds.

Okay, thanks. But I need to know if MK doesn't open until 9am, can I get from the Caribbean Beach Resort to the Contemporary by 7am. If the buses from CBR don't run to MK until about 7am, I'll miss my ADR all together, KWIM?

I think the MK breakfast buses start at 6:30 am. Be out at the bus stop at 6:20 am.

If the bus isn't there by 6:40 am, punt and call a cab to the Contemporary. Use the house phone at the bus stop to call the front desk. They should be able to get a cab over to you if you are long ways from the customs house.

Thank you so much, Carol!

Do you happen to know about how much I could expect to pay for a taxi on WDW grounds? I have heard some say $5 and some say $20. :confused3 I know it depends on how far you are going, but about how much from CBR to CR do you think?

I just talked with a CM yesterday at ASMo and they told me a bus would be outside at 6:30am every morning. We also have a 7:am ADR for Chef Mickey's in 2 weeks. I was told to tell the drive about my ADR time and that the driver will most likely drop my party off at the Cont. instead of MK.

why not "spring" for a cab ;) ; will set you back less than $15 w/tip.

nice splurge imo...enjoy your trip!

btw, my DS is @ BWV now (my honeymoon gift to them:))...said the rides are walk on, longest wait time was less than 15!

We used taxis on our last trip and it cost us between $15 and $20 each time (including tip). It was well worth it! We used it to go between resorts, and we also used cabs occasionally when we'd leave a park and the buses were super crowded.

Really? I wonder if they would still do that is there are other people on the bus? Or maybe they do it after the MK drop.

Thanks for the info!!!

In September, on our way to our Breakfast at CP on the early breakfast bus from the BW, the driver asked if anyone was going to Chef Mickey's. About 2 parties said yes. She happily swung over there and dropped them off on the way. :)

No way!!! That is SO COOL!

Thanks so much! :goodvibes

Standard vehicle cabs hold 3-4 passengers. They also have mini-van cabs that can hold 5-6 passengers.

do the mini van cabs charge more? I would need 3 regular cabs for my group....I think I will trust Disney busses to get me to breakfast on time or they would not have given me a early ADR.

The minivans are the same price.

Some drivers will not allow an additional passenger in the front, so they only hold five plus the drvier. You can also get a van that holds seven plus the driver and if he allows, an additional front seat passenger, but they aren't as readily available and you'll want to have the valet call for them at least half an hour in advance.

Taxi from the AKL to the CR will run you $18+ tip.

Ummm..... I never take taxis here where I live. What is a standard tip for an $18 fare?

Thanks, Anne!

I tip 15-20+%. If it's an $18 fare I'd give him $21-22 depending on how the service was. If I end up with a van driver I tend to tip on the higher side as there are more people.

I don't expect a cab driver to be a tour guide or a conversation partner, but if I ask them a basic question, I do expect a courteous answer. Above all I expect a clean, well maintained vehicle with a safe driver.

Huh? They gave you an early ADR because you requested one, not because their buses will necessarily get you there on time.

It's really not all that easy or convenient to get from resort to resort by bus. It's easier to rent a car or call a taxi.

OK what I mean is that the CM at Disney Dining knows where I am staying and knew I did not have my own car and that I would be using WDW transportation. He said that our 7:am ADR is not a problem and the bus will get us there in time or we may be a few minutes late but that was OK. This is what the CM at WDW dining and the resort I'm staying at told me.
