Resort to resort package delivery

We're at WDW right now !!!!

Had a character breakfast at 1900 Park Fare, great food.

We shopped at the GF gift shop and asked to have our purchases sent back to resort SSR. They told us it would take FOUR to FIVE DAYS. We were shocked!! We were use to the next day service from the parks.

Anybody else run into this?

I expect it's because the package delivery system is geared to getting purchases from the PARKS to the resorts, vice resort to resort.

Best guess is the WDW package system is designed to facilitate package delivery from the parks to the resorts. Resort-to-resort packages probably require more personal handling.

Yeah, but when they drop off packages wouldn't they pick up? They only go to a fixed number of resorts.

Actually, the park to resort free delivery of purchases goes to all resorts. There's no regular delivery from the resorts back to the parks. More than likely, your package had to go from the Grand Floridian to a park, then from that park to Saratoga Springs. So, you had dinner at the Grand Floridain. The next day, the package would be delivered to a park. Then the park would have to send the package out to Saratoga Springs on the next delivery. Which could be the next day depending on when the park received the package.

Day One - purchase is made
Day Two - Grand Floridian to a park
Day Three - in park (potentially)
Day Four - Park to Saratoga Springs
Day Five - ready for pickup at gift shop at Saratoga Springs

That's 4-5 days.

Yes, I just encountered the same response last week. When I asked about getting an item from the Polynesian gift shop back to Dolphin, I was also told 4 to 5 days for this service.

So of course, I did not go with this.
