 Newbie here! Just bought our points last week and we're already using them for a cruise in October. :boat:

As I was finishing our plans yesterday, it dawned on me that since we're flying into MCO a day early, I had no need to pay for a hotel, I could just use points to stay at "home" since we've never been there! :teeth:

Here are my questions: Should I schedule Disney transportation to the ship? Will the bus get me there early enough? We'll be taking a bus directly to the airport from the ship. Will this throw a wrench in the works? Does anyone have any pointers? :listen:

If the disney resort transport you there is a fee involved $56 or something per person. even though i have not cruised yet, but when i have been at the BCV i have noticed all the people waiting in the room that you entered from outside coming from the villas, the room that is right next to the valet.
it seem like they bus would leave around 1pm or 2pm . i heard you can actually start boarding around 11 am, 11:30 am and was told by DCL 1pm.
the safety rules and the ship leaving is by 4pm-4:30pm.
i have heard people renting a car and driving it to the port and dropping it off at the port, i want to say one of the rentals was budget.
we are planning on doing this in Dec. we will arrive 2 days before our cruise , rent a car and drop it off at the port. then renting another car at the port , drive back to wdw for one night and dropping it back off at mco.

if you used points for the cruise you would have been better off renting your points out and then paying cash for the cruise. you probable would have been able to pay for almost the cruise that way. just a little tip.

We have combined four DVC trips with cruises. We have always used FLTours (a Dis Boards site sponsor). We have a family of 6 and it is a lot cheaper to use their van service than the Disney busses. Plus they pick us up where we want and when we want. We got off of the Magic last Saturday morning at 7:40 A.M. and Riccardo was there waiting for us.
