resort switch?

My family (me, husband, son8) and my step daughter's family (her, husband, son1) have reservations for June 22 at POR. My step daugher got a call from Disney today asking if she would like to switch to POFQ or CS because there is a convention at Riverside. She told them she is travelling with us and they said it wouldn't be a problem, they could move us too. I'm a little leary since according to the website, there are no rooms availible at either of these resorts. I originally had a room at FQ, but back in March when I had to change our vacation week, I could not get anything at FQ.

I guess I'm really nervous about all this because so many things have come up this trip and we have had to keep making changes. For our past trips I just made the reservations and went, very simple. This trip the flights changed, we had to change the dates, resorts....I don't like things being up in the air like this. I'm afraid we will have no room!

Any words of wisdom on this one??

since you originally wanted POFQ - go for it.

especially in these cases - sometimes Disney will give a little extra - or charge standard rates for water view

I got the same phone call. We were offered to upgrade to two rooms for the same price as our one room at POR. We took Cornado Springs. I just checked my reservation and it has two rooms at Cornado Springs. After I hung up I should have asked about going to a deluxe. but oh well we will have more room this way.

I'm wondering how it will affect our ME arrangements. I'm thinking I will not use the luggage tags and just grab our bags myself.

You should call Disney ME, but I believe you can take a black marker and put the resort change on it. Did ME give you a phone number or do you need to call Central reservations to find out.

I actually like staying where the conventions are because that means less crowded busses and pools! But I was not crazy about POR and would pick CSR in a heartbeat

Great decision, we have stayed at bothe POR and POFQ and whilst we liked them both, we preferred French Quarter, you wil have a great time.

fall08CP- I thought about the possiblity that there may actually be less crowds with the convention. They would likely be busy much of the day at meetings and such. I'm sure Disney just wanted the room for someone else, rather than being worried that we may feel crowded. However, I wasn't sure if "convention" meant people in business attire using adult language around the pool at night, or crowds of cheerleaders, ball players etc. without adult supervision that I had heard so much about. Either way, since FQ was our original choice, I figured it was fate that we were offered the switch.
